i am not sure if the pond games also showed in the autorefresh .. when i clicked on the main page link it showed a pond awaiting for my move, while it didnt before that .. it might be a coincidence that i clicked on the main page link while it wasnt there for 3 minutes yet (which is my refresh time) but i am not sure .. did a pond show up on autorefresh for anyone else ?

Fencer: Yippee, works for me too, thanks heaps!

Got a query for you, I'm a numbers person, and would like to be able to see the average of my established games. I know you can see that for the top 50, but would it be possible to add something like that to profile page? I have set up a separate spreadsheet, and just change numbers myself, just to see how I am doing. Thanks, JO.

Sujet: A Question...
Isn't posting poetry, that wasn't written by the person who posted it, a violation of copyright law ?

And shouldn't a rule about posting copyrighted material apply to ALL discussion boards ?

19. Janvier 2005, 05:37:42
Bernice
Sujet: Re: A Question...
EIHN: yes it is, unless the person posting it has gotten permission from the author.

There is so much breach of copyright on the internet it is practically impossible to police :(

I agree about NOT posting copyrighted material on discussion boards.....but who would police it?

BerniceC: The real point here is there shouldn't be hypocracy in the Music Board if people are allowed to post copyrighted poems on the Poetry board.

And Moderators shouldn't be self-appointed police officers when they are actually in opposition to the law on the books.

      What do you think ?

Sujet: BKR
Is there a minimum number of moves for a game to count for BKR? One of my opponets timed out without even starting the game and no BKR change... at least in the message... (I'm not complaining: I don't think I should be awarded for a game that didn't even happen).

If there's a minimum how much is it?

modifié par Jason (19. Janvier 2005, 11:21:05)
i think its 2 moves each for a normal game , for a tournament its 0 , but i will stand corrected

2 moves is confirmed: http://brainking.com/game/FAQ?ht=6
doesn't talk about tournament, though.

19. Janvier 2005, 11:25:10

the game in question was in a tournament... So I guess it applies to tournaments as well (at least here at BK).
Thank you both (should read the FAQ more often )

19. Janvier 2005, 11:38:31
Hrqls
lol .. there was at least 1 game with only 3 moves where 1 player did win .. 1 move sooner and it would not have counted for the bkr :)

Hrqls: Yes, if someone had answered 3 I would have mentioned HyperBG as well ;)

But now that I think about it there was montion of a couple of chess games that actually ended in 2 moves (fool's check). So, it means no BKR change for those?

19. Janvier 2005, 11:57:26
Hrqls
hmm i didnt mean hyper backgammon .. was there a game in it of only 3 moves ?

i only know of a gothic chess game (i think) of 3 moves .. i dont know of any faster games ?

Hey i've lost in a couple of ponds etc but there is no evidence of my wins/losses/draws anywhere that i can find( i could just be being blind)- is there any or are we just playing the games and then their "gone" without any proof of us playing them.

Fencer: i wasn't implying that everything should be here at once, i was merely asking IF there was any form of statistics page; i myself am quite happy to play without them... it would be nice to see them implemented though eventually.
