Caissus: It requires new database structure on BK 2.0 where such statistics can be done in milliseconds. The current one is too complicated.

I am more and more curious about Brainking 2.0 :)

fencer i know that your busy but could you do a list of the top ten (most moves made in total , not a day) like you did for whispers but the top ten out of all the people here ?

Jason: I am sorry but it would be extremely hard to do. The current database [designed two years ago] is not prepared for such queries.

I notice Steve R is there a lot lately as the top player. I was once. Those who are there consistantly, go outside and do some shopping, go to work, etc. The internet will be there when you get back home. ;o). LOL

I was once again the top moving brain knight on the 19th with 262 moves. I even worked over 8 hours that day. LOL. Tell me that I have no life. LOL

i try to get as many moves as possible but sometimes i am here and no one around to play and yet over 100 not played lol

Hmmm... Was there a change in anti-checkers? I've never noticed the game make the next players jumps for them before. A setting I've missed perhaps? Or does it still say 'finish move by...' when you try to move in a game that was played in another window?

Bernice, thats only possible if someone has access to your account - I very much doubt thats the case for you so I suggest you contact the tournament organiser and ask if they have changed the name.

Lythande, I don't think there have been any changes in anti-checkers. I never use other windows when I'm playing so I'm not quite sure what you mean. But thats more likely than a change in rules!

I just played a game that I won in the evening, and it was lots of moves from the end again LOL

I found brain king to be unaccessable last night. I logged on after work about 8pm and couldnt get in the site. I kept trying off and on until about 10:30pm and then gave up. The times are central USA times.

Database server was jammed.

Brian it was from 00:30 till 07:30 for me, it was murder on a nightshift with no BK :'o(

I knew that BrainKing would be unavailable yesterday.... since I had a lot of free time, and access to a very fast internet connection which would have given me a chance to play many games, I knew that the game gods would be against me!

I'm new at BK and wanna ask you about the resign-rule in backgammon on this site.

If I resign a game in 3-win match - is the resign for the match or the game?

I know it from itsyourturn that the resign is a resign for the complete match.

It's always a resign of the game.

If a doubling cube is ever added, the resign needs to be for the whole match, though.
Is the doubling cube coming with the new brainking, Fencer? or the often debated correction to follow the generally accepted rules of Backgammon? (being forced to always play both dice if it is possible)

Rod: First I have to finish new BrainKing with no new features. Then, when it's proven to be stable, I can work on games etc.

I know the exchange rate between the Euro and the US dollar varies daily. However just curious what the current and average exchange rate is. I am year long brain knight so I paid 18 USD. WIth the new Euro measurement for paying what does cost me in USD to renew the membership. I know the new exchange does not go into effect until March 1.

18 Euro's is about $22

Biggest jump is in Canadian funds I think. The $28 fee went from $36CA (at Current US conversion rate or $28US) to $46.Ca - If that made sense. It does to me!!
But that is just now. When I got my membership it was nearly $45US, so the US buck isnt doing too well me thinks.

That's why everybody has enough time to renew his/her membership for the current price. I think it's fair to both BK users and me.

... I don't follow exchange rates, but is it possible for the US $ to start doing better, and then by the time it is ready to renew, it would actually be cheaper for us, or will it probable always be more expence for us in the US?

as I'm making my moves today, and clicking "submit move and go to" next game on my list, im getting games up where it isnt my turn to move, its happened about 3-4 times now. anyone else having this problem?

The coversion to Euro's means a 25% increase on the cost for the English. The Pound is crap against the Euro, but wasnt too bad against the $Dollar.
