Can I ask somebody to PM me and explain to me why those two whose names cannot be said on this board were banned? I went through the General Chat and did find something about some "leak" or what, so please, if it doesn't bother you too much. I would really like to know what's going on. Thanks in advance.

yes you can see your ratings there (but when i click on profiles its slow to load up ) also you cannot see your position ... looks like well have to wait to get it back on the main page (for us lazy ones ;)

Thats pretty clear cut, and easy to see.... even those lazy ones out there shouldnt have too much problem with that one !

When I look at your profile page, I can see them.. along with your wins and losses for finished games.. in a box at the bottom of the page :-)

You can see all of your ratings at your Profile page.

My guess is they were removed for performance reasons. It would be nice to have a link you can click on to see all of your ratings.

p.s. If you click on any game (completed/unfinished), you can see your current rating.

True Steve, but at least the tables still exist if you are curious about where you stand in a game. My backgammon rating has been on the increase as of late so it is nice to look at that after a game is done.

i for one miss the table on the main page , its hard to see a differnce in my bkrs (im too lazy to look on the ratings page)

Thats not the point, Its nice at a glance to see all your own ratings :o)

If you go to the ratings at the top of the page you can still see the tables for any game you wish.

The interview with zetes has pleased the masses greatly.

Guess like most things going in here I have no idea what is going on. So guess I will just keep tring to get some of these games off my main page. So that way maybe the for can come back to some of the people that think I have takin away.

It's easy, I print a loooong list of all BK users, put it on a wall and throw a dart. Or I would like to do it one day :-D

Well I'm sure it could easly be programed to still show the opponents last move while still having the white piece pre-selected.

The only trouble with having white pre-selected is that you'd miss the 'what move your opponent made last' bit. Maybe you wouldn't miss it, but I would.

As for white always losing.. Bzzzzzzzzt. Wrong. I've won more times as white than as black. :P~~

rhiannon - its when you hit the 'move and go to...' button that it counts as a move. So its just counted as one move.

In backgammon, what counts as a move for this list? I mean you normally move two counters so is that two separate moves or counted as just one?

I agree, this game is not balanced!
But if you play it with the regular chesset and with a maharajah instead of a queen it can be interesting.

it would be even simpler if the system selected a white move at random, and with about the same result.

are there still suckers to play white for maharajah? I would have thought that by now everyone is aware that white always loses this game - I guess that's why he's represented as a pigeon :)

... it's like Maharajah Chess when you are white - I mean you KNOW which piece you are going to move, yet you have to go through an extra move to click on that piece to indecate that you are going to be moving it.

(wouldn't it be more easy - and less page hits for the server - if the white pieces was automaticly "highlighted" and ready to move)

What pleasure do those sad anoraks get by playing on to the very end, even when they have no way of winning. Mind you, I cheer when they throw a double 6.

start. It can make a difference. And you have to pick your opening moves in chess/checkers/salvo/etc do you not? What's the difference here? I think any of the games need to get underway before they can get 'exciting'.

why do we have to go thru the boring process of picking our first 2 moves....is there not a proggy that can do this? i find these games are a bit NON everything when this has to happen....love the game, just dont like the start??

I think the ignore list should prevent you from reading any messages posted or pm'd by them. You would not see messages in games from them, but any games you were currently in them with would otherwise continue until either won or resigned by either party.

After that, they would not see your games in the 'waiting' list nor you theirs. If you and they were in the same tournament, your chances of getting paired with them should not change, so if you wish to avoid it, you'd have to avoid the same tournaments. However, even in these games, you'd only have to play, not talk. Might be incentive to hurry up and play those games to get them over with. ;)

/ignore is a useful feature. "You [edited]because..." just adds fuel to small fires. <em>*edit* turns bonfires into signal fires</em>
