just a tip: Most serious backgammon players consider the game incomplete without the doubling cube, and so are a lot less wiling to sign up.
I think you would get more participation if you add the doubling cube and play to 3 or so (of course, if you don't like it, that's fine too)

We are half-way with 64 players!

Pawns can start to join now after your current tournament game, this tourny should start in 10-15 weeks and will take one space. If you are one of the 64 knocked out in the first round you will have to wait for the game to finish before you can join another tourny. Although its just 3days a move it will take a year I should think.

If you havent played in a tourny before, this is for you! You will play someone of your own rating and if you win 7 games in a row you will win the 12 month Brain Rook for unlimited games, smileys and tourny creator.

Obviously I still need more Knight, Rook and higher players!

MadMonkey: funny how we learn of these things. I’ve been here since the starting year of BK and never knew about this loophole. I too heard about brains being scammed but never knew how (or even why). Like Carpe, I’m signed up and playing in one of those tournaments and also don’t have any “Brains”.

Thanks for the responses MM & earl, that's very helpful. I would've asked in the tourney chat, but I've rarely seen much chat going on in any tourney, and there wasn't in that one. But I think I have all the answers I need, and I got a bonus one about the "Brains scam" that I've heard a little about but never understood until now. :)

MadMonkey: Yep. I don't think Brains can be used for anything any more, unless there is a way to tell which ones are "legal" and which aren't.

I wonder why Fencer hasn't stopped that, unless Brains can not be used for anything any more, then it wouldn't matter I guess...

Oh, yes.... I just looked and the one I signed up for earlier has given me 100 Brains as I left again.....

Carpe Diem: and now quit the tourney, and BK "refunds" the 1000 Brains back into your account. That is how everyone has been getting additional Brains into their accounts.

Carpe Diem: hmmmm a very good question.... I have just tried to join Brains tourney (whilst i have no brainking Brains) and it allowed me as well. I am sure it never used to. It must be a bug in the system i guess.

As for what happens in your tourney, I am guessing that the 1st prize will still be 100% of what players paid to enter (if they did of course).
It does say Current status of prizes: 1: 5000 Brains, 2: 0 Brains, 3: 0 Brains , so it would suggest it thinks you have paid.....

Can you not mention it in the tournament chat and see…? Or ask LEGENDA as it is there tourney

Somehow I've been able to join a tournament with a 1,000 brain entry fee, and I have no brains. Well, I like to think I do, but not Brainking brains - unless I acquired some without realizing it. I wasn't even aware it had an entry fee. So, I guess I'm wondering what happens next.
