Otsikko: Re:
playBunny: But the point system is being abused by those partnering up with others and building up the points. Frankly, I hope pawns are exempt from any prizes. This is my opinion of course but I know I'm not alone in my opinion on it. I suppose there are always those who will find a way to beat the system and hijack the original purpose of anything.

Otsikko: Re:
playBunny: The Grouchy is not called for. I'm raising a legitimate question.

If what you say is the purpose, a team effort, a competition only, then yes, you are right. But if the purpose was to encourage others to make moves and earn points (encourage slow moves to make moves more frequently) then I have made an important point. It is unlikely under the current system that slow moves will see any advantage to moving any faster. Under the current system, the race is narrowed to those that choose to live online and play play play. If that's the point Fencer wants, then I stand corrected.

Otsikko: Re:
playBunny: I think we both have a valid point. I am pointing out a legitimate downside to this. Perhaps a limit of points earned each day when playing against the same opponents.

Otsikko: Re:
Stevie: Not only that, but two pawn accounts can partner up, play all day, and add up their points. Not bad unless the pawn account is a dup or something. As you can see from my stats, and the fact that I'm a black rook, any membership prizes won't matter. I just think that those who find the loopholes spoil the fun.

gambler104: Actually, the Black rook helps BK in the end. With Black Rook funds up front, there is more money for immediately for needed applications and hardware resulting in more members over time -- so the investment on Fencer's part is stategically sound.

Update: Someone has taken the offer!  Thanks!  ;)

If anyone is interested in taking advantage of the Black Rook special (1/2 price if you find someone to share the cost with you) then please let me know. I may have another interested party. It's 150 Euro each which equals about 200 US dollars. That's about a five year membership and you get a lifetime! A number of people have already grabbed at this chance. It's a great offer if you've got the money and you are going to be at BK a while. ;)

PM me if interested. ;)

HalfPawn: Some people like to organize prize tourneys and Fencer's idea allows one to do that for free. I think it's an excellent idea and remember it's only one type of promotion. And yes it's "free." You pay for a membership (which you'd do anyway) and if you do it now, you can run a prize tourney. BK is essentially providing the prize for free.

alanback: That has been my experience as well. I'm only guessing but I suspect that the Mozilla developers will continue to make improvements where needed and perhaps make it more compatable to those other sites.

I particularly like the tab feature of FireFox and the search function is much better. As for its compatability with Brainking, I haven't noticed any problems.

Eriisa: Basically it's more secure. But it has many other advantages too. Check out the website below and check it out for yourself. I use it exclusively and like it. I have had no problems with the switch from IE to FireFox.
