We need one more fellowship to get this tournament going. Oct 2014 Spider Linetris Bash III

Where are the Knights? Your fellowship usually plays in everything.

vstjrt: Maybe he just doesn't know how to play and is an experiential learner, learning as the game progresses. Over time, a player will learn when they are beat, some will resign and some hold on hope for the win by time out.
I for one know nothing about the game so I would end up playing until it was obvious to me (a beginner) that I was beat. Most experienced players know when a game is won long before the novice, and it doesn't really matter what the game type is.

furbster: I expect that most original participants of that tournament will no longer be members at this site and that the majority of won games will be by default due to a few extremely slow players that truthfully wrecked this tournament. I'm looking forward to the next 10 years of this tournament. May the youngest person win! I know I will still be around ;-)

furbster: The second round should go much faster since half the people moving on have already moved on (from this site). Let's hope those that are holding up the pack don't move one ;)

happyjuggler0: I agree, but thats the beast when it comes to playing here. I dont expect to get more then 2 divisions of players (maybe even one). I suspect this tournament will go faster then predicted.

pgt: Actually the tournament in question is approaching its 5 yr anniversary due to handful of players who like to play at a snail's pace. After 5 yrs of play, we're still in the first round! - check it out LUCKY THIRTEEN
Wait until the second round, most of the games will be won by default due to the amount of players that advanced by winning their round and now they do not play here anymore.
The tournament started out exciting, but lost its mojo around 2006 sometime.

Imsoaddicted: It would also help if teams were allowed to have "alternates" that the captain can substitute in the event that they lose a person due to the long drawn out tournaments.

This is true for tournaments that allow for vacation, but trust me on this one, I just lost a game in the finals that I was going to clearly win due to my Fischer clock continuing to count down when the time-out process was turned off. By the time I was able to move, my clock was in the negatives.

However, with clocks such as these and the Fischer clocks, they continue to run when the server goes down. So, if you don't get a chance to move due to the site be down - you lose your game!
