Handling comes at a high price, Bernice, because chatty's blessed with the Midas touch - everything she handles turns to gold.
I'm cursed with the Midas touch in reverse. Everything I handle turns to...well, what cariad is currently shovelling in the stables.

Sorry, chattyknickers, I assumed it was the same as the 'Fun Party Inflatable Sheep' - €19.99.

Modified by bumble (29. July 2004, 09:24:38)
A dvd of this momentous event is available from chattytelly enterprises, priced €20.
The dvd examines each move in depth in slow motion and action replay.
There is also an interview with chattyfluff during the final game, lthough this does have a 'parental guidance' rating - as does chattypants' victory celebration which includes a somewhat drunken rendition of, 'The Parson and the Farm Girl'.

Spider Line 4.

How about Arachnophobia? The quality of some of the players here have made me scared to play it. :o)

I bet the third stage is scarier still!

musiclover: thanks for that.

Brainking is not going to grow if every pawn that posts is going to be accused of being Purple.
Please guys, think before you post. We want more members - we don't need prospecrive members being chased away.

Steve: ROFL!! What is 'going madmonkey'? Do I want to know? :o)

I meant Game Rules - backgammon of course!

According to the stats on Play This Game - backgammon, white has about a 1% advantage.

IMupChucKing: I assume you enter the maximum amount of players you want (20) then start the tournament when 20 have signed up.
Set the start date, say, amout a month from now then if 20 people sign up tomorrow you can bring the start date forward by editing.

I'm not going to delete it BerniceC. I think it was intended to be humourous. :)

No, don't leave Rogue Lion. Surely everyone can see that you did the right thing? I mean, what else could you do? No-one is going to hold it against you. At least you were decent enough to try. It's not your fault that a few can spoil it for the many.

9. June 2004, 23:59:58
bumble
Hey, it's not your fault, Rogue Lion. You can't be held responsible. To my mind you did the right thing.

Unfortunately I think it's a sign of the times, BBW. There's no way of checking as far as I'm aware.

You won't go wrong with BBW guiding you, UNIV. EYES. He's the master of the Tournament around here! I wouldn't like to guess how many he's created.

This is TOURNAMENTS. If you have a personal issue with anyone take it elsewhere.
Also, copying and pasting from one part of BK to another contravenes the BK rules.

We all know what happened concerning the said tournament(s). Let's put the topic to bed.

If you have any constructive criticism concerning the avoidance of a repeat performance, feel free to post BUT posts containing personal attacks will be deleted.

17. March 2004, 09:39:48
bumble
Bernice: Why should I delete that? It's on topic and you express an honest opinion.

I happen to agree with you that Prize tournaments should be paid for 'up front'.

17. March 2004, 09:36:03
bumble
mrloupcity: A Clint Eastwood-type tournament has just started - ie the tournament with no name. I think that may well be it.

17. March 2004, 08:23:51
bumble
Bernice: ..'there seem to be a lot of posts deleted...'

Not by me, Bernice. I haven't deleted anything for a while. A quick look at the posts here and it seems to me that there's nothing that needs deleting.
Some of you have a problem with one of LongJohn's tournaments.
The fact remains, whatever the morality of the situation, it is LongJohn's tournament - he is the creator and can control it as he likes.

AD: it's not necessary to remove your post. :-)

16. March 2004, 01:30:26
bumble
Aw, chattyrats! I'd hold a prize tournament just for you if I could. Only you would be allowed to enter.

Knowing you, you'd still manage to lose though! lol

bumble
Bernice and LJ: Okay guys, you're back! Let's try again. Next time I'll 'hide' you for a week which will be a great shame because I think you're both valuable assets to this board and BrainKing in general.

To reiterate, NO personal attacks, jibes, bickering - be they directed at a named person or by reference.
If an attack is made in the same post as a tounament 'advertisement', the entire post will be removed.

Be good - PLEASE! :-)

14. March 2004, 03:58:12
bumble
Bernice and LongJohn: I'm sorry both, but you were warned. I've put you both on 'hide' for a few hours.

I've got an ever-growing mailbox of complaints from other BK members asking me to act.
To those of you that took the trouble to message me - sorry, you were right and I was wrong.

13. March 2004, 12:09:01
bumble
Bernice, LongJohn and Andersp: As you no doubt expected, I've deleted your posts en masse. They were irrelevant to 'Tournaments'.

Please guys, take it elsewhere. I have a ban/hide feature and I know how to use it. :o)

I've just had a quick butcher's, Scarlet, and the
overall winner is seti vikki (sp).

In the first round, 3 tied in section 2 for first place so there were 4 in round 2 - which seti vikki won, 3-0.

Bernice: go to the backgammon variations discussion board and see if there's anything there.
Anti-backgammon, eh? I don't play it myself, I prefer a game I have some chance of finishing in my lifetime.

Unless Fencer advises me differently, I am going to remove any posts here that have a suggestion of 'bickering' in them - be they advertising a tournament or not.

This isn't the place for personal disagreements.

BBW: I'm missing something here. Why should Fencer make a public post about goodfood's tournaments? What's wrong with them?

Odds to win:

I'd like to point out that the Rest of the World section of 'Bumble's World Tour' - backgammon, is for players not included in the other categories (UK, Europe and USA).
Players from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South America etc etc are especially welcome to join the fun in the Rest of the World section.

Subject: Ongoing Tournament
I hope someone can help resolve this.

The 'ZETES April open slowly tournament (backgammon)' is still running. The winners of both sections are still waiting to play each other. All section games were completed weeks ago.
Both parties (loggerhead and NOT a floosie) have sent messages to zetes but have had no response, although here language could well be a barrier.
What would be the next step?

Also, as this tournament is still 'live' are any brain knights that were involved able to participate in any other backgammon tournament, or do they have to await the outcome of this one?
