will not be invoked ... and instead de/re-installing java might do. I'm not

danoschek: I thank you very much for your help.
AVERT Stinger didn't repair the access to "Tokyo Dojo". Is the problem coming from a changed parameter about Java Virtual Machine? In that case it is strange Brainking is working fine, because I think BrainKing use also the Java.
What is not clear for me is "re-installing a new system". Do you suggest I have to uninstall McAfee-antivirus and install another antivirus?
Cheers.

for some deep sheet though re-installing a new system will be necessary.

Because since the end of 2004 I can't check virus without excluding compressed files, I lost confidence in Norton Antivirus. I have tomorrow subscribed for McAfee Security Center. I like it because it detected a trojan who escaped from Norton, Spyware Doctor and Microsoft Antivirus.

BUT! Since McAfee I can nomore access http://www.shogidojo.com/eng/engindex.htm --> Tokyo Dojo. Only is a box with a red cross!

Is someone could help me, please??

Sorry I know only some english and I was educate to write correctly in french. It is a pain for me to use a chaotic language!

Does anyone have any hints on getting firefox history to work better?
I like the IE way where it groups same sites together but with my Firefox, it seems to list one complete list for each day making it very difficult to find specific pages you have visited.
Any hints would be most welcome, thanks

1. hold down control and roll your mouse roller upwards is the easiest way.
2. Ctrl ++
3. Use the menu at the top. View>Text Size>Increase

There's a new gaming system out called a G3 psp.
With a four inch screen, looks incredibly nice.
Just letting people know alot of children would love it for a gift.
As for example i had to re edit my message!

The fox is much faster but the text is smaller,i'm not quite sure what is more faster that's why,due to the fact it takes longer to read and reply.

Is there a way to turn up the text on fox?

danoschek: I am with you on that one, and always disable any updating, error reporting when i install MS Products. Unfortunately until we are offered other software that is:

a) as good as the MS Suite of products (inc OS)
b) as widely excepted and supported as MS
c) as functional and integrated as MS

we are pretty much stuck. Yes there are lots of other software companies providing good operating systems, good office suites and good management tools (server, web and pesonal) they are not all as easy to integrate into one system.

The BoyCott MS has lost much of its vigor that it had back in '97 and until we can ensure that more people join the campaign we are stuck with gates and his 'one sided' market.

For any that are interested: http://www.msboycott.com/

Apple has released a Security Update for Mac OS X. The update addresses nine
vulnerabilities, including one for a flaw in Safari that could be exploited by phishers.
That same flaw affects all browsers that support Internationalized Domain Names
and involves the indiscernible substitution of international characters for others ... ~*~

There were several isues with Roxio products if i recall. Personally i dont use any of them, i use XP for writing discs and find it the best, but have had several calls from people that had issues after upgrading. The more common was the error messages, the second was mising drives. I think the new update (with sp 2) has fixed it though :)

Aragon: I used Roxio (Easy CD Creator). then I upgraded to windows XP. I have upgraded both XP and Easy CD Creater several times. Now CD Creatore works fine. However, when it failed, I got not error message. Neither did I get errors access other drive. What happened, when I tried to use Easy Cd Creator, was the program locked up leaving the processor maxed out at 100%. No matter how long I waited, It never returned...I just had to reboot.

Usually the a:/ drive if being used to save certain docs etc will try and access each time the doc is opened or saved (even if its now being saved elsewhere) so it can in some cases bottle up cd writers (not the norm though!!)

The error on the CD writers etc certainly sounds like an issue Microsoft Had when people 'Upgraded to XP' for some reason it did not like the recording programming of ROXIO the makers of easy cd creator and others. So it sounds to me more like that issue. But that wouldnt muck up a floppy drive mate.

28. March 2005, 12:14:38

So are we looking at 2 seperate problems here, a faulty floppy & Easy CD Creator problem OR is the A: drive one causing the others to brink up this error somehow.

28. March 2005, 12:10:17
Badinage
That being the case id suggest that the A:/ drive is faulty. I would just remove the thing, does anyone use em these days?

Alternatively replace it, you can buy em new for a fiver or so :)

He does burn/copy alot of disks, but not using Easy CD Creator (cant think what he uses now).

It always does it the moment you put a floppy in A:

I have never seen the error on a floppy drive Ian, but certainly happens on CD, DVD, CDRW and USB Sticks.

An easy fix (some times) is to right click on the drive with issues and select properties, recording tab, and tick enable recording onto this device. If not follow the direction on the link above.

Can someone please help a friend of mine out.

For no apparent reason he has started getting the following error message when try to access certain devices.

A:\ IS NOT ACCESSIBLE, INCORRECT FUNCTION

This happens the same for A: D: E: F:(USB memory stick or camera) drives.

C: drive, printer & scanner are all fine.

One of the things I like about Firefox is that you can tell it not to let certain sites put cookies on your puter. I've always wished IE had this option. This tool, WinPatrol gives you that option. Plus it does a few other tricks. Avoiding start page hijacking for one.
