Universal Eyes: ok, Mike...have your say.
I'm just the person moderating now. I was asked to mod. I said yes.
It's not up to Ron who moderates the board. As we all know, Ron has passed away.
The moderators of boards are decided upon by the site owner and his global moderators.
I've explained this to you, but you choose to believe to be some evil person who has "done you & Nirvana wrong".
I have nothing to hide. That is not the case.
You need to take this up with Fencer or the global mods. I will wholeheartedly agree with any decisions they make, but I will not allow you to trash this board.
That is my responsibility as a mod. Any further posts on this will be deleted with no notice.
Please take your arguements to where they belong...to Fencer and the globals and NOT on a public board.
I urge you to read the user statement to help you understand what is and is NOT acceptable on a public board.

TexasToest:</i> So many kinds of music, so little time</i>
I think you'll love them both..Dotsero is...well awesome jazz with energy is the best way I can think to describe it.
And Los Lonely Boys are 3 brothers who grew up listening to the best of all forms of music. Very blues-inspired, very tejano-influenced, very Sanata-inspired, along with a healthy respect for classic-rock...many flavors all melded together in a most delicious treat.
They did have a hit and got a lot of airplay with a song I'm sure you've heard and didn't know who it was with Heaven

Chekc them out...I'll get it eventuallty. I'm already convinced I'll be hooked...this group gets some airplay on Smooth Jazz stations, and probably they've been played on the XM and you just don't know it's them. Good stuff!

I discovered an awesome contemporary jazz group when I lived it Denver a few years back- not sure if they are still together, but they made some great CDs..their name is Dotsero. Give them a listen if you haven't heard of them. I think you'll like them.

TexasToest: I love Zydeco!!! Salsa and Blues too...This souonds like an advertizement for New Orleans..I couldn't believe the variety of the music in that place...you can walk down Bourbon St and others going from bar to bar and hear every kind of music you can think of. Of course, Jazz is one the most prevelant. NO is world famous for it's jazz...but not many people know they can also hear awesome blues, rock, metal, motown...anything you can think of. It's a virtual smorgasbord of music.

I'm listening to Los Lonely Boys right now. I don't know how to quite catagorize them...would you think it's "Texas rock?, "Blues" "Tex-Mex"? "Latino"? 3 brothers from a small town outside Austin, I believe..or maybe San Angelo?
I just know it's awesome!

Tuesday: hey- is that song that Eriisa mentioned "Lullabye" on there? I don't know that song. I'm waiting for the collector's addition of the CD 'Home" to arrive in the mail. I ordered it from Amazon along with some old Emmylou "Blue Kentucky Girl" and the new one from Michelle Branch & Jessica Harp. If you don't know about them, I think you'll like them. Good rocking country stuff, I'm thinking. They recorded under the name "The Wreckers"...I'm waiting for that to be released so it can ship..sometime this week, I think.
As for that tape, you really don't want to hear my singing...but I'd love to hear yours.
I was messing with my guitar last night wondering what I'd play if I actually did it. I worked on one from your girl from Missouri there, Sheryl, and got to playing "Strong Enough" It's one of my theme songs, and I think of you when I play it too : )
Thought you might like that one...some cool picking there : )

TexasToest: sweet of you to say, but I'm prety sure I was born before Nancy. But I know when I was young, I watched her cut her teeth on that Red Brick Floor (Anderson's Fair??) downtown Houston. She had some good company as well. Lyle Lovett, who practically grew up in my back yard, tho he doesn't know me...Townes Van Sant(is that right?), Shake Russell..and let's not forget ZZ Top . not to mention Steven Stills, who I believe was from up your way as well, and my two favorite Texans of all time..Steve Miller and the one and only legendary Stevie Ray Vaughn
Yeah, I guess Texas has made a pretty good contribution to music...oh yeah, Buddy Holly...shall I go on??? LOL

Jim Dandy: actually, I caught them on a morning talk show today. I don't know if it was local or national. They seemed just fine, and said that it really wasn't a big deal to them. That it was a little thing. They are about to start on tour and seemed very happy and well : )
And yeah, I think alot of the hassles they got were because they were from Texas, not necessarily a Bible Belt thing, but a Texas thing. Bush was Governor here.
