rod03801: So what are they referring to when they say "stronger opponent"? That is where I read the BKR into it. Obviously a higher BKR means a stronger opponent doesn't it?

Subject: Re:
Vikings: We were discussing it and thought that the lowest BKR should have been sorted by the SB because she won at least one game each against stronger opponents. How can the SB be the same for all of them when it uses their BKR to sort them? Or at least that is the way I understood it.

It appears that they only play backgammon!

Is that because snails can't go in straight lines? Hehehehe.

So they can leave your team as soon as the tourney starts and go back to their old team to be able to paricipate in f/s challenge matches but their games for your team still continue? I thought that once you were in a game for a f/s you had to stay until the tournament/challenge ended?

If that is the case I will let my team know about it so that any that miss out can participate with another team in the team tourney but still come back to us if they wish to play with us in our f/s challenges.

I do understand your point about multiple teams though. When you think about it it might mean your own f/s playing your own f/s in the last section. And keeping it to one team allows more f/s a chance to participate.

joshi tm: Well that's not fun! Would be great to be able to run 2 teams at a time! And what happens next time there is a team tourney. If you have had to leave players out this time and they go somewhere else just so they can get a game but the next tourney offers more places do you beg them to come back to you?? Is there some guarantee that these team tourneys will always have the same number of team players?

Bernice: Nope I read it wrong the first time.

Time for GAME

Means that the whole game is to be done in 3 days. You can earn more time by moving fast but only up to a total of 9 days for the whole game.

So yes you timed out because the other person was the last to make a move. It was waiting for your move when the time for the GAME ran out.

A good way to get rid of those silly red tourneys with -hundreds of days would be to use them up in action point games so I will keep checking them when I am on and listing them here to try to get rid of them. They really annoy me so killing 2 birds with one stone is a good idea no?

srnity: Hugs to you too :). And I might just take you up on that offer. Hmmm War and Peace. I don't think I have read that one yet. Will the Belgariad series by David Eddings do??? LOL.

I think KotDB may be right about the attempt to inflate their own ratings. I personally can't see the point in showing a false view to the world as I believe that in the end the truth always comes out.

Thanks for the heads up Snoopy. I will just try to be patient but if they are like you said and they stick their head in here for a browse I guess I am in for it. LOL. I'm tough though and I don't have to read everything they write. Just make my moves and move on. Hehehe.

Thanks to all for their support and even to Harassed for passing on a good idea about checking for better time constraints.

srnity: Thanks for the offer but without resigning I am stuck like emmett said and I choose not to resign. I will just have to wait the 12 days or is that 12 lots of 3 days????? Arrggghhhh.

On a happier note I would like to thank Big Bad Wolf for the small (5 person) tourneys. I think it is a great idea so THANKYOU :)

And Emmett I can see the smilies. Cheers to you too srnity. I specially like the spinning head. LOL

TarantinoFan: I forgot to mention that it also ticks me off that Auto vacation means they can time out of LOTS of games each day and only lose 1 day of vacation. If they lost a vacation day for every game they might think twice about their inconsiderate play!!!

Subject: 3 day tournament
I thought signing up for a 3 day tournament would mean that moves would be made every 3 days. Obviously I was wrong.

I chose a small tourney, (First 5 to sign), with a 3 day limit which is my own personal choice as I work and have family etc and sometimes I need the 3 days. I was quite happy to wait for the 3 days for each move but one person in our (FAST START) tournament has decided that he should set the time limit himself by using the Auto Vacation. As a pawn I don't have a lot of choice of tournaments and I chose a reasonably fast and small one so that I might be able to participate in others in a timely fashion.

I feel that this is just rude. This person has been online every day since the tourney started but has not yet deemed it necessary to grace our tourney with his presence (Now on the fourth day of a 3 day tourney). Just plain rude and inconsiderate!!!

Feel better now that I have had a whinge.

And before anyone tells me to pay to join the site so I can start as many as I want, as I said before, I have a family to support. I am quite ok with the 20 games as I play on other sites as well and 20 here is enough. 1 tourney is ok with me too. I chose small and reasonably fast to compensate for that fact.

rod03801: Thanks Rod, I figured as much because there is a limit on how many vacation days you can have and this guy would have had heaps of timeouts and his vacation days would have disappeared in an instant if it was 1 day per game timeout. I guess all I can do is wait and hope that he comes back some time in the next 23 days. :)

Thankyou both for your help. I just had a browse through their started games and it seems that everyone in the whole tournament has been left hanging as well. They haven't logged on to the site for 5 days so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

baddessi: I don't understand exactly how that works but I went and had a look. They have 23 days left so does that mean that I could be waiting for the next 23 days or should I divide that by four or more ie: does he lose a day for every game he misses or does he only lose one day at a time?

Subject: Timeout question
I am in my first ever tourney

ALL games for dummies (under 1500 & unrated) #10

and one player has not made a single move. My main page keeps telling me that they will run out of time but every time they do it resets and gives them another day! Why??
