gogul: yes, it can. Modern CPUs use GHz to measure their speed. 1 GHz = 1'000'000'000 Hz 1 millisecond = 1/1000'000 of the second. the answer to you question is: in the same millisecond, a CPU could do 1000 calculations. I our case, it could roll 1000 dice (thank you, grenv).
