i read the FAQS but was curious...i hate keep bringin up other sites but at other ones when ya play tourney games you play 2 games against each opponent...one of each color...here we play only one game against each...i have no problem with this...but i always hear people say when ya go first or last someone may have an advantage?...personally when i play four in a row games of any type i like to go first i seem to do better when i do it that way but thats me...what my question is ,is this..does goin first or last in ANY game give someone an advantage? or are they all equal? i was just wonderin due to a few people asks me why we only play one game i did read the faqs and understand how the tourney works.. was just wonderin if you get an advantage of any type for goin first or last?..ok the noodleman is done askin questions hopefully anyone esle that was thinkin about this also it will help them....later fellow brain heads....

Yes it does make a difference. Games like 5 in a line, Reversi, 4iar(?) & chess can all be shown to have a bias toward the person going first (although some really good 4iar players prefer going 2nd) at the end of the day, the better player should win, but with a match between two even players, it could make a difference.

how so? because when ya go first you are on the offense? and goin second you have to start on defense? so to speak?

(you are talking about 4iar?) I am not sure, and I am not good enough to be in that bracket but some top rated guys & gals have stated that against lower ranked players ( and some all the time ), they prefer to go second!

Ask someone like McStack on GT, he is a truly awesome player, and know far more than I do!
