Maybe it's a good start where to investigate. This line seems to be interesting:

"Money Transfers of the customers, by drafts, bank payorders , telegraphic, remittances by swift."

"Remittances by swift" is exactly what you need for international transfers. Yes, the fees can be high but once this option is confirmed and can be used, the details can be worked out.

I usually receive payments from people in 2 days. I thought that having the PO Box is the difference. SkyKing's took 3 days, I think.

I always email Fencer when I get any from my 2 way pager. It all depends on the time of day in CZ as to when it gets activated. He's really cool about that.....

I'd be willing to bet that most lost mail is from people's carelessness when addressing it. I always try to write it neat and in block capital letters. If you don't make it easy for them, they'll make it hard for you!

I remember a short science fiction story that had a guy make first contact with the intragalatic society by him addressing mail to them. The closer the mail is sent the longer it would take. He addressed it to some far away star and it got there instantly. The aliens concluded we were space faring and made contact. Kind of a spoof, but it sure sounds like your experience. :)

If you've ever been lost in the main Chicago post office...you'd know why. There are HUGE rooms in that building, full of "lost mail".

Emne: Re: bumble 4 days? Where from?
Right here in Orange County, California. The Czech Republic is a long ways away from here, too. I imagine the Unites States Postal Service has a big hub up in Los Angeles, which I'm sure the terminal annex here in Santa Ana gets to them that day, after the sorting and whatever else it takes to get mail on its way is done. Little bar codes and such. L.A. is 34 miles from Santa Ana. LAX is about 40 miles from Santa Ana. I think there terminal annex was moved to South Central L.A. just north of Watts a few years back. The one in downtown L.A. is by Union Station. I think it's closed, but I haven't been there in years and it was still open the last time I was there.
I usually mail things like letters right at the post office. That can save a day sometimes if the truck hasn't made the pick up yet. Paying bills and stuff gets put in the mail box or handed to the letter carrier.

I've had a package come from Japan (to central Illinois, USA) in 4 days. Durring that exact same time, it took over a week to get a letter from the Chicago area (northern Illinois) to central illinois.

4 days? Where from? I've had internal mail take longer than that!

Don't quote me on this, but I imagine as soon as a customer services rep receives payment they contact Fencer and the account is activated then - before the money reaches Fencer.

Emne: Re: Postage to Czech Republic is 80¢
Seems like I mailed it on a Saturday and Filip had it in his hand on Wednesday. Four days, ain't bad. How long after Eriisa gets the check does it take to activate the account? Most letters mailed in the United States to points in the United States take one, two, or three days to get to where they're sent. Depends on pick up time and day of the week, as we have mail delivery six days a week here.

But I would imagine it reached Eriisa quicker than it would have reached Fencer and Skyking's membership would have been activated sooner.

Emne: Re: I think International Money Orders are the way to go
They're common here in Southern California. Lot's of liquor stores sell them. The one that I buy them from in Huntington Beach charges me only 59¢ each for them. When I first asked the lady behind the counter if they were good out of the country, she said everywhere. I said even the Czech Republic? She said no problem. I sent it to Filip and she was right, he had no problem. She told me that most of the money orders that she sold were sent to Mexico or some of the Central American countries aside from being used locally instead of a personal check. She was tripping when I told her Czech Republic. I let her know she was right after Filip got the money order cashed.
It seems the United States has some of the most liberal banking and money rules around, though I'm not familiar with how other places do it and am just speculating from how most of the questions that people have are from people in different countries.

I have been told that if you fold money (notes) into a sheet of carbon paper that the letter cant be exrayed to see what is in it...I dont know if that still works with all the modern technology etc :)

International Money Orders? I dont know if we have them....I must enquire, would be even better if we did :)

Emne: I think International Money Orders are the way to go
Doesn't Iran have them? If not, then I guess some other way will come to light.
They work fine. Filip can cash them with no charges to do so. You make them payable to him, so no one else can cash them unless done so fraudulently. You get a receipt, so if it doesn't make it to him, you can put a stop on the money order and get the money back.

Actually I think sending it registered is less safe for the fact you draw extra attention to the envelope.

I have paid for many things on eBay by sending cash in the mail, but of course you need to follow these steps:

1) Place in a sheet of paper and fold it around so the sheet of paper is complete surronding the money.

2) Only send bills, never send coins. (Someone sent me coins in an evelope once and once it got to me, I could easly tell that coins where in there.)

3) Make sure it is addressed correctly and everything like that.

4) Make sure you don't send any more then you are willing to lose. Since sometimes sending it through registered mail with insurance and such could end up costed a lot more then what it is worth. (So for example if the first $20 was lost, then the money you saved by not going registed and such would almost cover the cost of sending again).

Anyway, this is just my opinion - you should do what makes you feel the most secure, but as long as it looks like a normal letter, nothing special about it - it should gain no extra attention and get "lost" on the way.

Fencer :) that is why i said i would send EURO in an envelope...REGISTERED that way it is insured and if you dont get it I get my money back :)
