Lundy lies 10 miles off the North Devon coast, its only 3 miles long and half a mile wide. It is a very quiet place with no cars, just wildlife! Many years ago the Island was used for smuggling and Barbary pirates claimed the Island. Two giant 8 foot skeletons have been excavated on the Island in granite coffins. The self proclaimed King of Lundy in 1929 Martin Harman made his own coins for the Island which had to be exchanged at the rate of 1 Penny to 1 Puffin. It is a strict no-fishing zone but diving is allowed, the lobsters grow to 2 feet+ here!
