The wins/losses ratio is useful in conjunction with the rating but is not directly comparable. It depends on the ratings of your opponents, so, for example, a high win count against weak players will not achieve a high rating. Here's the brief BrainKing explanation. And here are two in depth articles on the formula. It's a chess formula but is used for all games. [so far, hint hint, Filip, lol] USCF Rating System and Chess ratings. If you win 10 games with players who have ratings of 1000 or less, your rating will likely be lower than if you'd won games against players with 1800+ ratings.

1. Is it "Alive". It is important to me to know that others are doing it also. I don't want to register/pay for a site that is dying. 2. Is it being maintained. This is pretty obvious. Is the site owner still interested in the site and actively improving it.
