I enjoy playing handicap games, both giving and receiving a handicap. Once I work out acceptable ranges for games, I will only accept invitations if the games are within the proper ranges. Here are the guidlines I have worked out so far:
Shogi (Japanese Chess) ====================== 2200 <= BKR < 3000, I take a 2 piece handicap 2100 <= BKR < 2200, I take rook+lance handicap 2000 <= BKR < 2100, I take rook handicap 1900 <= BKR < 2000, I take bishop handicap 1800 <= BKR < 1900, even 1700 <= BKR < 1800, I give bishop handicap 1600 <= BKR < 1700, I give rook handicap 1500 <= BKR < 1600, I give rook+lance handicap 1400 <= BKR < 1500, I give 2 piece handicap 1300 <= BKR < 1400, I give 4 piece handicap 0000 <= BKR < 1300, I give 6 piece handicap
Go (9x9) ====================== 1900 <= BKR < 3000, even 1600 <= BKR < 1900, I give 2 stone handicap 1300 <= BKR < 1600, I give 3 stone handicap 1000 <= BKR < 1300, I give 4 stone handicap 0000 <= BKR < 1000, I give 5 stone handicap
