The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response.

i have come to the conclusion that i only have to replay and replay the games when i write something in the message space :( if i dont answer opponents queries i can usually get the game to go thru :(....it is getting worse tho :(

I have been having the same problem since about 8pm cst. Site is running very slow when it lets you do anything.

I keep getting "cannot find server" there are only 31 people on at the moment. I have gotten the overloaded message but cannot send any messages or play any games. The games a just full of little red crosses like the links are broken :( I will send this to you Fencer by normal email, in case it dissapears again:(

IMupChucKing, whenever you get that "item cannot be used" pop up here, powering off then back on always fixes it...

WebTV access cost is similar to a computer, but costs less than $100 to buy. It does not have the capacity of a computer, but works fine for sites like this one, and is far more versitile than most people realize. It is also great for those of us who watch a lot of tv, since it has some great features which help orgainize recording, and other tv viewing help. I also like the fact that I access everything from a remote key board and can play games from my couch, and my 72 inch tv is my monitor! Thanks Harley... I am WebTV... I turned my power off and unplugged for a few and when I came back it was fine also.

IMupChucKing... I can see your game OK, but I've had a similar problem. I thought it was because I was on AOL! I logged out of BrainKing, cleared my cache and came back, then it was fine.

I can't access my game of reversi, I get a pop up saying this is a kind of information I can't use. verything else seems to be working fine. Thanks

I think forced draws (in the manner of perpetual check) in tablut are nonsense. A voluntary draw in which both sides willingly repeat position indicates a mutual desire to draw, neither side thinks that they can win but in tablut white, in an otherwise lost situation, can force a repitition to avoid losing. The fact that this can be done in chess has no bearing on the situation in tablut. On the tablut rules page there's a statistic that at BrainKing white has won 60% of the games, this is already a large enough advantage without adding the extra resource of being able to force a draw (black can not force a draw). For black avoiding a draw is as big a challenge as is trying to win. I dont know if it would help to remove the draw as it might make it too easy for black to win but as the present situation is unfair I suggest that games that end with white forcing repetition shouldn't count as a result but instead should be replayed with the colours reversed.

In chess, if the same moves are repeated 3 times, it's a stale mate. ( same as a draw )

I'd ask for a draw as soon as its obvious that you're at a stalemate, that nobody can win. Definitely after no more than 2 or 3 moves!

Hey.. I guess I haven't dealt with a lot of games where draws are very common.
If, in a game such as Tablut, both players keep making the same move, moving back when the opponent makes the appropriate defensive move, then the opponent moves back, and it starts all over again? Is this considered a draw? If so, after how many repeats is it appropriate to ask for one?

LOL.. did that make any sense? I think it's snowing in my head too...
