yep, it was one of the good pop 80's bands... They were very popular here, and we still hear their songs at some clubs... And I never forget them when I play as DJ at 80´s parties...

With their debut album ''Gotteskrieger'' and the preceeding EP ''Ich Habe Die Nacht Getraumet'', Ashlar Von Megalon ( aka HEIMATEAERDE ), catapulted himself to the top of the harsh-electro scene in 2005 ! In April 2006 he returns with ''Unter Der Linden'', the thunderous first single for the second upcoming album ''Kadavergehorsam'' : This 5 tracks CD single continues the saga both graphically and musically speaking and in its ultra-harshness and club comptability it continues, where debut ''Gotteskrieger'' left off. ''Unter Der Linden'' will make you hungry for more, offering a rarely to be heard concentration of hit quality on each of its 5 individual tracks and laying a perfect bridge to the eagerly expected new album !

Following the demise / split of Euro Electro-Pop sensations NamnamBulu - it was easy to predict that follow up prioject FROZEN PLASMA would return with as much energy and infection synth-tuned poppery than ever before ! Already scoring a huge underground hit with dancefloor single ''Hypocrite'' they return now with Brand New full length album ''Artificial''. With new singer Felix Marc ( of DIORAMA ) now incorporated into the line-up, NamNambulu / Reaper -sound-mastermind Vasi Vallis delivers 12 tracks and 75 minutes of mature, dreamy electro-pop - brimming with synth led melodies across a number of high class potential hits tracks such as ''Irony'', ''Crossroads'', ''Generations Of The Lost'' and ''Condense''. Subject: Clan of Xymox
Refuting the rumour of a possible break-up ( following "Farewell" and "The Best Of" releases ) Goth / Darkwave legends Clan Of Xymox are back with "Breaking Point" : possibly their most perfectly blended album yet. Featuring searing guitar lines, strong bass sounds mixed with atmospheric and powerful synths and Ronny Mooring's deep, sensuous and harmonic voice it delivers all of Xymox's trademark sounds and references offered in their iconic and unique style. This 'classic' sound is no more evident than on album opener and first single "Weak In My Knees" - a club hit par excellence : mighty tunes, powerful chorus line, a perfect sing-a-long melody which catches the listener in an instant. The following track "Calling You Out" shows them from their darker, even more aggressive side with straight guitar lines and no compromises, while "She's Dangerous" is yet another dancefloor hit - complete with infectious synth lines, driving rhythms and a permenant hook. "Eternally", "We Never Learn" and "Cynara" are songs that will capture the hearts of their older fans immediately - quiet, almost introspective, slow, thoughtful and eternal. "Be My Friend" presents another powerful club hit while album closers "Pandora's Box" - forms an interlude into the aggressive song "Under The Wire" ( a track that demonstrates perfectly the rockier side of Clan Of Xymox ) and finally "What's Going On" a melodic masterpiece that demands replaying.

Subject: Hocico
Finally, the time has come ! Immediately after the release of the "Out of Line Festival" DVD ( which included some live clips of Hocico ) fans started to feverishly demand the release of a complete show from the legendary Mexican Harsh Electro duo. Little wonder, as the Hardfloor-Electro pioneers enjoy the reputation of being one of the best live bands in the scene ( on CD, Hocico's music obviously lacks the visual component and impact of a frenetic Erk Aicrag, drenched in sweat, giving his very last bit of energy as if his life were depending on it ). On March 10th 2006, the first Hocico DVD, aptly titled "A Través De Mundos Que Arden" ( "Through Worlds That Burn" ) will finally see the light of day - Erk and Racso have been extremely busy putting together a massive collection of Exclusive Material, Bonus Interviews and Unreleased live shows on what must be the definitive collection of Hocico material for their ravenous fans. The DVD not only features a complete recording of the group's show at the M'Era Luna Festival in 2005 ( presented in superior picture and audio quality ) but also a very impressive array of Bonus material : different live recordings across the planet, rare behind-the-scenes snippets and documentaries, TV-performances, short films, the group's live projections, interviews and the rare and sought after animated video clip to "Born to be ( Hated )". Finally the vivid destructive energy of a Hocico live performance can finally be relived within the confines of one's own four walls ! An essential feast for fans and those that wish to become captivated by the electronic madness of the Mexican legends .. because the phenomenon of Hocico can only be fully grasped when experienced live.

Spetsnaz - a name that has become synonymous for Electronic Body Music in its purest incarnation. Swedish Electro / EBM duo Pontus Stålberg and Stefan Nilsson are back ! Armed with increased musical firepower they take the EBM world by storm on Brand New album "Totalitar" - a musical firestorm of stomping hard beats and brutal sequencer loops. Each beat and each note fits tightly in its place, the rhythms lash brutally, the sequencers push mercilessly with all unnecessary ornamentation discarded in favour of melody and rhythm. The scene has been eagerly awaiting a new long player of these saviours of the classic EBM sound now, finally, their call has been heeded and "Totalitär" delivers 13 excellent EBM hits : high class, pure energy aggressive dance music, tunes to sweat to, electronic steam hammers overflowing with emotions and power.

Subject: Rotersand
In June of 2005, Rotersand's "Welcome to Goodbye" had already been named "Electro Album of the Year" by Zillo Magazine, and although there were still over six months of releases, it seems that Zillo was right : by the end of the year, a euphoric press had heaped dozens of "10/10" and "Album of the Month" accolades on the album, which finished at #2 in the year-end DAC Album Charts. "Welcome To Goodbye" saw the group diversifying stylistically, drawing influences from the pop, dance, and indie scenes into their somber lattice of dark electro sounds. These diverse influences are even more apparent on this new remix EP, where songs such as "Would You Buy This" or the title track "Dare To Live" receive the club mix treatment. The results are so infectious that no club DJ could ignore them. Other album tracks, like "Almost Wasted" and "Alive", have been given completely new arrangements highlighting different aspects of the songs. "Dare To Live" also presents TWO Brand New tracks : "Drop Your Education" and "Give It All Away", alongside remixes from Soman and Haujobb / Destroid firmly establishing Rotersand's position in the electro pantheon.

Subject: New Covenant album!!!!!!!!!!
One of THE biggest bands in the Electro scene are back ! Returning with their sixth album, Swedish trio Covenant once again prove their mastery of electronic music. New masterpiece "Skyshaper" develops and evolves their trademark sound - from Kraftwerkian album opener ( and first single ) "Ritual Noise", to the utterly infectious electro-pop of "Brave New World, they cut a swathe through dull, pre-set drudgery delivering an album of intimate melody and glittering, spine-tingling club friendly anthems. Tracks such as guaranteed HIT song "20 Hz" ( recently appearing on the soundtrack for XBox 360 game Project Gotham Racing 3 ) to the melancholy-laden ballad "The World is Growing Loud" and the utterly unique "Spindrift" with its amazing siren chants - "Skyshaper" contains all the ingredients to surpass the success of all previous Covenant albums. The continuing evolution of one of the Electro scenes biggest bands continues to amaze, surprise and inspire - utterly, truly brilliant.

Subject: New order - Singles ( US Version )
This version features one bonus track ( "Temptation" - Secret Machines Remix ) unavailable on any other pressing. The massively influential band New Order formed in Manchester, England, in 1980, rising from the ashes of U.K. post-punk pioneers Joy Division ( after singer Ian Curtis took his own life ). Guitarist Bernard Sumner assumed vocal duties for the new unit, and with drummer Stephen Morris, bassist Peter Hook, and keyboardist Gillian Gilbert, made music history. Successfully fusing new wave, electronica, synth-pop, and club music earlier than many bands now seen as contemporaries, their unique sound was as insightful and soulful as it was perfectly suited for the dance floor. From their earliest singles to their latest hits, this historic double-disc collection offers a career-spanning portrait of one of the most enduring and distinctive bands in modern rock.

''Shadow Of Light / Archive'' contains all Bauhaus promotional videos alongside live performances recorded at the Old Vic Theatre, London in 1982. Originally released on two VHS cassettes, it's a contemporaneous document of the first incarnation of this legendary band who stole the show with their reformed performance at Coachella 2005. When they disbanded in 1983, members Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David J, and Kevin Haskins found success both as solo artists and as members of Love And Rockets, Tones On Tail, and Dalis Car. However, there's a certain nights music that only happens when the four become Bauhaus.

Subject: Death in June
Out on the Japanese Label Supernatual Organisation Discs on December 5th is the limited edition release of Death In June's "The Phoenix has Risen". This limited run of 1000 copies is a very obscure one and was first suspected to be a bootleg, but it is not. Named after the scratched message on Death in June’s very first vinyl release "Heaven Street" (1981), this CD comes from the same label that released Current 93’s LP "Earth Covers Earth" back in 1988. Although brand new this new Death In June release bears the year 1999 on the back sleeve. Conceived and put together by Douglas P. himself the CD contains most probably the earliest Death in June recording ever released such as an 8-tracks ‘Rehearsal Tape’ from 1981, with alternative demo-versions of tracks, of which most were later published on the 12” "Heaven Street" and the album "The Guilty have no pride" (1983). Death in June at this early stage were Douglas P., Tony Wakeford and Patrick Leagas. Also included are 8 additional tracks, recorded live at "The Living Room" in London on September 9 1983. The booklet furthermore contains some amazing photos (among others ‘live at The Fridge’) from the very early days of Death in June.

The rare audio interviews include all members of Joy Division, some of which have never seen the light of day before plus spoken word contribution on one song from Band manager Martin Hannett. This is an official release set to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Ian Curtis's death and the soon to be released movie based on his life. The eight page fold out full colour CD booklet contains lots of Joy Division images and a detailed biographical article on the band.

Subject: New Covenant single
Presented in a Limited Edition of 4000 copies - "Ritual Noise" heralds the return of possibly the finest electro band of the last 10 years. Deftly transcending genre restrictions this six track Maxi confirms their place amongst the greats of the scene. Their first release proper since 2002's futuristic masterpiece "Northern Light", "Ritual Noise" sees the three Swedish maestros toiling over their machines to deliver another seminal slice of perfect electro-pop genius. From the opening metallic vocoder refrain to the pummelling tribal rhythms and melodic synth washes - its pure, pristine Covenant taking in elements of classic albums "Sequencer" and "United States Of Mind" along the way - with the polished production of "Northern Light" adding a unified sparkle to proceedings. This emotional brilliance ( only Covenant can write an emotional dance track like this ) carried by Eskil Simonsson's never-better vocals bodes well for upcoming Brand New album "Skyshaper" released early in 2006. "Ritual Noise" includes the title track in 'Edit', 'Main' and 'Version S' incarnations alongside the unreleased tracks "The Island" and "XRDS" plus a stunning Terrence Fixmer Remix of the title track too.

Subject: 25 years of 4AD boxed up
The immortal 4AD label celebrates its 25th anniversary in spectacular style with the essential budget priced 2CD compilation "1980 Forward - 25 Years Of 4AD" exploring the highways and byways of the label's legendary history. While 4AD will remain forever associated with the ambient swirls and fairy-tale vocals of the Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil, in its first decade it also introduced the world to Bulgarian choral music, worked at the cutting edge of American underground rock music with Throwing Muses, The Pixies and Red House Painters, and even tasted unlikely pop success when Colourbox and A R Kane collaborated (as M/A/R/R/S) on the groundbreaking house collage "Pump Up The Volume", a UK number one single. Later, after The Breeders had taken the world by storm with "Cannonball" and "The Last Splash", the label could be found releasing rootsy Americana by Tarnation and Mojave 3 and exploring quirky electronica from Iceland's Gus Gus and Birmingham's Magnétophone, as well as enjoying fruitful long-term relationships with artists like Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance), Kim Deal, Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly, all of whom continue to record for 4AD.

Subject: Dunkelwerk
Discovered by their like-minded counterparts The Retrosic, German electro act Dunkelwerk finally unveil their Brand New debut album for the Alfa Matrix label. After several remixes and compilation appearances the time has now come to unleash one of the darkest Electro assaults in years...

Stunning debut ''Troops'' takes its influence from the searing imagery and barren wastelands of WW I and II - strong, powerfull electronics combine with sorrowful orchestral arrangements and surging, marching beats to create a towering atmosphere of loneliness, defeat and despair. Dunkelwerk invite the listener on one of the darkest sonic journeys on the Alfa Matrix label to date, with tracks such as ''Bastard'', ''Underfire'', ''Die Sechste Armee'', ''Hymn'' and ''Dresden'' 100% club assaults benefiting from the trained ears of sound engineer Len Lemeire ( Implant, Anne Clarke ) Dunkelwerk deliver uncompromising Endzeit Electro with a strong attitude and imagery comparable to :Wumpscut: and The Retrosic but with their own sound and conceptual approach.

Subject: Architect
The latest masterpiece of innovative electronics from Architect mastermind Daniel Myer ( Haujobb, Destroid etc ) - "The Analysis Of Noise Trading" combines the roughness of ( deleted debut ) "Galactic Supermarket" and previous opus "I Went Out Shopping" resulting in a balance between breaks, resonating sound-bites and dissonate ambience. However, this combination may be more subtle than first realized - for example, track 2 starts very calm ( although in a 'distorted bass' kind of way ) setting both tone and direction for "The Analysis's..." path : a straight but syncopated attack which includes breaks, clicks, vocals and ( of course ) noise placed alongside vocals and vocal samples that have become more important in the Architect's overall soud design. For this release, vocals are embedded and are reminiscent of D.Myers pre-architectural work in more commercial areas and proove an exciting alternative to the mostly instrumental idm scene. An album as excellent as previous Architect works - fully satisfying for indoor and outdoor listeners.

Subject: Leaether Strip
The release of the "Suicide Bombers" EP marks the official and strong return of the cult Danish electronic industrial artist Claus Larsen. It was in the early 90's when Leaether Strip rapidly established his position on the music map, reaching an unprecedented popularity in both the European and American electro scenes. While drawing on the powerful angst seen in other electro acts such as Front 242, Skinny Puppy and even Nine Inch Nails, Leaether Strip rapidly earned the reputation to carry a deeper message and meaning in his work through his very personal intense music and the often emotional, sometimes political dimension of his lyrics. On January 13th 2006, Leaether Strip celebrate its 18 years of existence and Claus Larsen has chosen that very special day to unleash his much anticipated new album aptly titled "After The Devastation". Although 5 years of silence almost killed him, it is by putting his pain into music, again, that Claus Larsen has managed to resurface from a deep depression to feel today stronger and more confident than ever before. Once mentally blocked, his inspiration flow was so intense over the last months that the new Leaether Strip album could be nothing else but a Double CD set. By far his most personal and open-hearted album ever, "After The Devastation" alternates from the very intimate to more political oriented songs. Both musically and vocally, Leaether Strip simply continues his unique sound tradition while expanding in more diverse ways than anything he's done before. The harsh aggressive EBM tone given by the "Suicide Bombers" EP finds new inspiration in punishing tracks such as the autobiographical "Back In Control", the adrenaline-pumping "Slam" and the corrosive "One Man's Gain - Another Man's Pain". Of course, Claus Larsen delivers the typical Leaether Strip anthems constructed around upbeat electronics, dark symphonic melodies and distorted vox on songs like the straight and engaged "Homophobia", "Give Us Some Shelter ( Katrina )" and "Gaza Strip - The March Of The Innocent". Claus Larsen also explores more melodic realms with very catchy dark themed tunes such as the emotional pearl "Dying Is Easy - Life Is Harder", "What If", a totally rewritten version of "Carry Me - 2006" and the challenging "A Boy". Being a Double-CD album also of course leaves enough space for more surprising experiments such as on the bombastic and splendid "The Shame Of A Nation", the electro-punk of "Happy Pills ( Gimme Gimme )", the symphonic "Inner Exploration", the electro-clash swagger of "Junkie Do" and the excellent "Smerte" which with its Danish lyrics and intricate arrangements evokes the ghost of bands such as Das Ich...

Through his career Leaether Strip has explored various music styles within the electronic genre and this is what he continues to do at his very best, offering what will rapidly be referred to as his most outstanding effort to date with enough force, anger and emotion to please all fans of edgy-soulful, dark and uplifting electronic music. Ultimately with "After The Devastation" Leaether Strip keeps his promise to his fans and returns for more electronic mayhem - proving once more that even though he has been copied by many over the years, he always remains the real deal - and a true leader when it comes to dark electro industrial music.

Subject: COLLIDE - "Like The Hunted" DVD
COLLIDE has been a studio band content to live within the walls of their studio creating a music which has often been described as “darkwave cyber industrial”. After eleven years of making music and releasing 3 full length CD’s and 2 remix CD’s, the constant question of "would they ever play live?" began to haunt the duo. They gathered some very talented players to help interpret the sound from the studio to the stage. If you were ever wondering what it would be like to attend a COLLIDE show, this DVD will answer the question with a 14 song, 65-minute live concert. What makes this concert even more interesting, is that although COLLIDE has been making music for many years, this was only their ninth live show ever. COLLIDE enlisted talented visionary Kevin McVey to help with the DVD shoot. This concert takes place at the historic El Rey Theater in Los Angeles - USA and was filmed with 5 cameras and was recorded digitally into a Pro-Tools HD system. The "Live at the El Rey" part of the DVD also features a second angle (crane camera) for viewing during the entire concert. The entire concert is presented in widescreen, 16:9 format.

In addition, the DVD includes two of COLLIDE's videos also directed by Kevin McVey -"Euphoria" and "Son of a Preacherman". Like the Hunted will also include a video by newcomer Gabriel McIntyre, with his contemporary take on "Razor Sharp". The DVD also includes footage of Collide's West Coast tour for the songs "Like You Want to Believe" and "Wings of Steel", as well as a 17-minute interview and outtake piece entitled "The Modification”. “Like The Hunted” also features COLLIDE unplugged, performing the songs "Deep" and "Modify". Finally, it includes a photo gallery of over 150 photos.

Subject: Einstürzende Neubauten
respectively on October 24th and October 12th are the Einstürzende Neubauten DVDs "Liebeslieder" and "Seele Brennt/Nihil" . "Liebeslieder" is a DVD (both in PAL and NTSC) of the most professional and ‘complete’ Video-Documentation by Einstürzende Neubauten, originally released in 1993 on VHS only. It holds a 100 minutes compilation of the period 1980-1993 mainly consisting of live concert footage, clips and interviews taken from the "Stahlmusik" video (1980), the "Die Grosse Untergangsshow" video (1981) by Wieland Speck, the "Die Berliner Krankheit" video (1981) by Klaus Maeck and Norbert Meisses, the "Ein Abend im SO36" (1982) TV documentary by Albrecht Metzger, the (30min) SF film "Spider's Goodbye" by Albrecht Metzger, the "Decoder" film (1983) by Muscha and Klaus Maeck, the "Halber Mensch" videofilm (1985) by Sogho Ishii and the the "(FM Einheit:) Stein" video (1992) by Walter Lenertz. Furthermore it includes the videoclips for the "Tabula rasa" tracks "Blume", "Salamandrina" and "Die Interimslieben" and a lot of material from the visual vault. "Seele Brennt/Nihil" contains two different films, previously unreleased on DVD. The documentation "Seele Brennt" is a portrait of this seminal industrial act, filmed last year and including previously unreleased film-material and exclusive interviews with the band. Additionally, it also contains material, that was filmed during the recording sessions for Neubauten’s album "Silence is Sexy". The third part of this DVD contains the entire cult movie "Nihil oder Alle Zeit der Welt" from 1987, featuring the members of Einstürzende Neubauten as actors. It’s a film about a group of young terrorists (Neubauten), fighting desperately against an obscure ‘professor’, that represent a personification of all things bad and ugly in today’s civilization.

Subject: Karl Bartos
The first release on ex-Kraftwerker Karl Bartos' own Audio Vision label - "The Camera" ( taken from 2003's critically acclaimed album "Communication" ) expounds on how modern media is turning word-centered culture into image-centered culture. Based on Bartos' classic electro beats and the distinctive baselines ( very reminiscent of KW classic "The Robots" ) the European melodies and the well-known synthetic voice unfold the authentic sounds from one of the originators of electronic music.
