Universal Eyes: yes, that is why it might be better to play where players are seated by luck of the draw.

Universal Eyes: no, there's never any kind of seeding or ranking in poker at the beginning of the game. seating is always luck of the draw, or by sign up order. Everyone always starts with the same number of chips, and thus the same chance to win, no ranking or seeding.

Universal Eyes: I'm assuming the entry fee will be from our chips.

and, people are just randomly assigned seats.

Universal Eyes: usually in a poker tournament you have 6-10 people at a table, and multiple tables depending on how many people are in the tournament. After people lose all their chips the other people are usually moved around to balance the tables out, and tables are removed as the number of players decreases. there is no seeding, or byes

Czuch: I agree, I think it would also be nice to be able to leave the table in the middle of the hand after folding, and not wait until the hand is completely finished

Czuch: It can be player enforced to a certain extent, but you have to keep in mind that the max is only a max buy-in and a player may go over that amount after winning without any consequences.

coan.net: I think that is a GREAT idea! That is probably the best way to control the amount of chips in play. Something visual in the poker room is definitely a good idea, maybe make certain items upgradable, such as a prize cup, you can get the next biggest one once you get to a certain chip count. The only thing that might get in the way is that we don't want to add to many things to the poker interface that don't have anything to do with the game and would crowd the screen.
Another thing that Fencer could maybe consider is allowing the exchange of chips for brains. You could cash at a certain exchange rate of chips to brains. That might be kind of getting too close to playing for real money, but since you can't actually get cash for brains it might be OK.

Bernice: The problem is that we can't just allow infinite renews otherwise people will just lose all their chips right away because they know they can just get more again, and then we undergo massive inflation. We need to find the fairest way of allowing people to get free chips back without "flooding the market".

    Subject: fold button
I've noticed that when a player is not allowed to raise anymore the fold button is moved over to the right of the call button. I think that this is a bad idea because people will accidentally fold when they intend to raise. (this has happened to me once already) The fold button should always stay under the call button.
