Subject: New Site Team Tournaments
WOW - With so many new games and such, it was hard to pick which games to make site team tournaments out of. Sorry I did not get to all the suggestions given to me, but I still have all the suggestions and will try to get them in next time.

Here are the new site team tournaments:

  • May 2008 Mojo's Triple Dice Poker 6
  • May 2008 Plopper's Plakoto
  • May 2008 Pinchy's Cheversi
  • May 2008 Strangles Frog Legs
  • May 2008 Snowball's Cheshire Cat Chess
  • May 2008 Stampy's Knight Fight

5 of the 6 have never had a site team tournament. Cheversi has had a site team tournament before, but did you know there was a recent rule change to make this game more even? So if you have not played Cheversi for awhile - well now is the time to start playing again.

Oh, and a bonus game. Can anyone figure out where I got the 6 names for these tournaments? (Stampy, Pinchy, Strangles, Plopper, Snowball, and Mojo)

    Have Fun!

    Fellowship LATEST

Well, thanks to Eriisa, we seem to have ChatZilla working and BrainKing has its own Channel (Live Discussion Board / Chatroom)

Those of you that have used any form of IRC (Interent Relay Chat) before should have no problem finding it on the dalnet server.

Everyone in the Fellowship is welcome to log in to it, and i will post it on the Fellowship board in case there are others that use IRC and wish to join us.

So, please just download ChatZilla, follow the Instructions and hopefully you will find Myself & Eriisa there

Those using any other form of mIRC, i am sure will know how to get there , just type /join #brainking from the dalnet server.

There is no real reason to create a live discuccion forum as such, but it has been talked about many times on BrainKing.
This is just a nice way to do it in the form of a Firefox Extension and just for BrainKing users
The room is there all the time, and hopefully an Operator (Eriisa & myself at present) will be there to help answer any questions.
So if you just fancy a chat with friends or there is a problem with the site and you want somewhere to go, you now have somewhere to go.

Come and join us either through ChatZilla OR any IRC provider

Nirvana: You are like myself and other bosses, we like to keep an eye on whats happening on BrainKing and let Fellowship members know.

Bosses can see challenges created from within there Fellowship(by themselves or Captains) on their Fellowship challenge list, but unless you are a Captain of a certain Team you can not see any other challenges in the Waiting room.

That has been mentioned by myself and others now, but Fencer says 'No' , so only Captains can see them.

But it would be helpful if other challenges were visible as well, so I could draw my teams' attention to them and maybe more people would take part.

Nirvana: Yes, the tournaments page is set up differently than the Waiting room games.

When I first came to the site, I didn't realize your own games you put there (Waiting room) aren't visible to you, so I thought I wasn't using it correctly.

Basically, the only ones that show up are ones you can accept. And obviously the ones you put in there yourself, you can't accept.

MadMonkey says that the challenges you create CAN be seen by you on your fellowship page, though. (Again, I haven't tried that out yet)

Nirvana: Well, it is set up to work the same as the current "Waiting Room". You don't see your own challenges in there, either.

I believe they show up on the bottom of your Main Page though, don't they? I wonder if there is a place your own team challenges show up? The specific fellowship's page, perhaps? If not, that might not be a bad idea.. I would think they must show up somewhere, so that you can delete it, if you want? No? (I haven't tried it yet, honestly.)

Little Bosses - When the Little Boss invites someone, I would also like to see the accept/decline to go to both BIG & Little Boss. (Still a copy to go to BIG so they will still know what is going on.)

    Fencer:

I created a couple of public games, they appeared in the Challenges list like the ones against other named fellowships do, but they didn't appear on the Waiting games area. If they don't show there, then how do other fellowships know that a Public challenge has been set up? do we have to post them on the Tournaments board.

On the subject of Little Bosses:
why is it possible to set up other boards in fellowships but not edit them, and so only doing half the job. It would be handy to be able to do that, please.

As Litte Boss, I can send invites to people but the accept/decline doesn't come to me like it would if I were the Big Boss, and it would help if it did, please, so whoever it is can be greeted properly when they join a fellowship.

Fencer: Well i would say the Boss has a better idea what his Teams and Players are up to in the Fellowship, and should be able to see ALL open invitations.

When selecting one, just get a quick page or box, asking for which Fellowship it is being accepted as opponent (simple tick box), then carrying on as normal

    Fencer
    Subject: Re: Public challenges
MadMonkey: There is a big difference. A private challenge is sent to only one team, so there is no doubt which fellowship will accept it, so it can be done by any person with the proper rights (captain or boss). But, if you are a Big Boss in two fellowships and a captain in the third one, and open a public invitation, which fellowship should be chosen as the opponent?
That's why only a captain can accept a public invitation because he cannot be a captain in more teams of the same game.

    MadMonkey
    Subject: Re: Public challenges
Fencer: Well i CAN create them to challenge another Fellowship and except ones sent to the Madhouse as well as the Captain can
There is no difference, and it is handy if the Captain is not about etc...

    3. When creating a 'Open Invitation, it shows you a list of players for that Team you can select from, BUT if you click on the Fellowship link in the box, it does not take you to that Team within the Fellowship. (not major though, best sort thing now lol)

    1. Bosses as well as Captains should be able to see what challenges are available, to except them and able to create them from 'The list of teams where you can create a public challenge' list, like they can in direct Fellowship ones.

    2. Once a Challenge is created, there is no way to delete it. There is no Delete challenge option like in direct Fellowship Challenges created.

    2. The ability to put challenge Matches in a Team Challenge waiting room, so Bosses & Captains from all Fellowships can look through and except or get Teams for them.

YES YES YES - this would be great. Just like a person can put a game in the waiting room, have a captain be able to put a team challenge in a "waiting room" for other fellowship captains to accept.

Fencer: OK, On Rank level, they are equal, just one a Fellowship & one a Team but they have the same powers as you can NOT be a Captain without being a Manager

So in other words a Fellowship Manager is .....hmmmm ???? OH, a Team Captain(If they are made one of course), nothing more

No point being a Fellowship Manger unless you are going to be a Team Captain, unless i am missing something

Until a way is made available for Team players to be able to set themselves available or not at certain times (a drop beside there names they can set maybe or something in there profile beside the appropriate Team) the last thing we need is other being able to set Challenges
