A few people have now been hidden or banned. There has been plenty of warning. There won't be any more.

Subject: And the poblem is...

I’m sure some players with good ratings don’t cheat. They are: Ferjo, Sobek, Undertaker, Faethon, Wismazstr, Fontal... Only Undertaker is rook. Well, do someone think Fencer would banish brain knight or brain rook? I don’t think so. These are the rules, and those who doesn't like them should go...

(I think that's what I'll do... anyway, I've seen this happenning in IYT, Chu thought the same way as Fencer is doing now. Nowadays, IYT is a "desert island". I hope BK history be different...)

You have nice nick and I think, that You know more that you beyond type. Draughts/Checkers is mysterious game with complicated history and mistery. Cheaters never understand this game! Merry Xmas and Happy New Year and I hope, that we meet in really on-line server. Bye all.

Stardust, it's so easy to understand all this, isn't it? Misteryo is telling the truth, only "the cheatting business" is not allowed here.I also think Pedro Martinez offended Sobek (well, I don't speak very well english too, and if Martinez have told that to me, I would be offended). But what Idon't uderstand it's just... why don't anyone seems to understand those obvious things? My point goes to Fencer and global mod's: are they sleeping?

sobek: This system is good for the kind of players we have here, sobek. Interested in a position, even if it means nothing.

Anyway, a bad rating system is unfair, but not so much as using programs, or asking friends to play their games.

Oh, and Stardust is right: who cares about BKR? In a "place" where people get happy for winning for timeout, it's everything already said! Once again, "BK system" supports that, there's no option to ask to our oponnent to re-instate the game...

(Maybe Fencer have been too much time in USA, and really catched their ideas...)

Mysterio619: Only a few players are "silenced" here. Even glob mod's keep on with Mr. Purple "way" (or politics). There are a few couples and friends keeping "Brainking System" (that's like in politic, precisly), and other ones are silenced or ignored.

This is all about Checkers! There are some "strategic pieces", and than the others. The first ones command the game...

There is a gamesite which has 99.9% cheating protection for checkers and other games.

Gr☺uch☺: I agree. Ratings aren't important when compared to family, job security, or personal health, but it is fun to see your ratings jump after a tough win. I can't understand how anyone can enjoy cheating to win, but it happens. I don't think it happens often because cheaters get bored and move on.

Gr☺uch☺: Yes,I see what you're saying and I agree to a degree. It's just that some people cheat, lie or steal to be at the top of the chart. They aren't there because they are the best at their particular game. I guess it's finding a balance between playing for fun and playing for 'points'.
What has turned me off is the fact that a person's true rating isn't known because of the players who cheat the system.

Stardust:  It's an achievement.  A trophy.  I play for the fun of it but BKR is important to me.  Some games I don't play so well.  But where I am good (or decent) then the BKR is a testament to that ;)

Subject: My 2 cents
Why is bkr so important anyway? We are not all on an even playing field. Ever since I learned of the many many people (or should I say accounts) that cheat to boost their ratings,my bkr means nothing to me. I know that if I play a few select friends who I know are not using programs or multiple nics to boost their rating that whether I win, lose or draw,I'm satisfied with a good game played.
whatever happened to playing for the fun of it?

Pedro Martinez: nice bedtime story " BKR system to be restructured", even cock and bull story :-))
BKR is very, very bad system. Sample: Nick Klaun played and won 5 games. One opponent has BKR cca 1800 and for between 1100-1400. And Klaun has BKR 2121 :-)))))). Suggestion: new nick, more time win with weak opponent and You will be King in BrainKing :-)))))

Grandmaestro: Like I said, you should have paid better attention to the time control. If you had, you wouldn't have timed out. It was only your own fault. Wanting the whole BKR system to be restructured because of your own mistakes is a bit brassy. By the way, there are no payed memberships on BrainKing. None of the available ones have anything to do with ropes either.

Gabriel Almeida: No, he can't. At least not if he wants to honor the User Agreement. I actually don't understand why are you inciting him to do so...:(

Grandmaestro: I don't think so. What if all the people you beat went back to "unrated"? It wouldn't be fair to your record. Ratings wouldn't be worth anything if we could simply reset them. Thats just my opinion. If you want an offical answer send the question to Fencer.

Purple: Hi, Purple. I write this here because I can't PM you. Must be such a problem in my computer. Can I join that fellowship? I've noticed some checkers players are in that fellowship, maybe I could learn more about the game with you. I saw (also) that our mods in this DB are the most active members of it, so... it's almost a "second home" for checkers players.
Unfortunatelly, a lot of great checkers players are not here (and there), I still don't know why (I have my opinion about that, but nevermind...), but I hope this can change. I dream with that glorious day when We will be all great friends, again! As a family!
Best regards, my good friend!
