SL-Bosse: Yes, it's English now :) Oh, and we should all urge espionage players to join this tourney! notify all your (former) espionage opponents!

I joined the tournament, though I had to guess which link to click b/c my Swedish isn't that good. But since that click all content on the site is shown in Swedis to me!!! Are you trying to get us all into learning your language, Bosse? ;)

Thad: I'm not at all happy with Fisher's clock. If you're in a different timezone, and you can't avoid a long time after the last move of the other player, you lose b/c of timeouts all the time. Happened to me just too often, and I do play fast!

dAGGER: Good idea :) I'm starting to play more seriously again as well, so let the tourneys begin!

The only downside is that pawns can only enter 1 tourney and have to wait till the whole torueny is over to start a new one...

AbigailII: You can find the game history on the right side of the board, so you can always look back. In espionage good players make notes for themselves so they know which pieces have been identified by the opponent. This is possible here at BK as well. The game doesn't have to last long if you play frequently, do try small fast espionage! I hope we'll get you into an espionage enthousiast! :)

I find it hard to find the tournaments with good espionage opponents. But also I must admit that my playing level isn't that good anymore, b/c I tend to paly to fast and make too few notes, or forget to make them, so I make fatal errors.

DarkS0uL: welcome :) we're trying to set something up here, but we haven't got many players yet. still a lot of work to do... I have become more of a passive observer; I still play the game, but I'm not an active organiser anymore.

The Other Me: Hi, indeed there's nothing much going on around here as far as espionage is concerned. We had a very active sabotage (that's waht it's called at IYT) group (the League mentioned) at IYT, but the League has died because the messageboards at IYT disappeared. We try to build up a new League here, but it hasn't proved succesful so far...

SL-GentleKiller: Do you mean a list of known SL members? You can find it at the official League site: http://www.geocities.com/ruths_corner/index.html

The page with the memberlist is: http://www.geocities.com/ruths_corner/LeagueMembers1.htm

Hi dagger,
well we have to create a League together. It's not something one person can do ;) Nothingness is prepared to create a tournament especially for the new League once there are quite some players here. Am I right, Nothingness?

Subject: Trying to get SL players + espionage fans on this site together
Hi all, I want to ask those who played in the SL to ask those they know to come here. And to everyone here I'd like to say; ask any espionage fan to come to this board. At IYT we had a great League. Let's try and build one here! :)

tankbattler ace: maybe you did save both games, only you just see 1 name, not a list like at IYT. The other games are not immediately visble.

By clicking the arrow after "Select action for position:...." you can select one of your saved games.

tankbattler ace: Hi Jim :) You can save as many set ups as you like, both as member and as non-member. I use several set ups to have something to start with. Somtimes I use a saved set up and change it so I don't have to start from scratch, but have a new set up anyway.

Mousetrap: Hi Mousetrap, good to meet you here :) I was a real IYT fan as well, and think of switching to a paid membership here. I hope we can get many sabotage fans from IYT here and espionage fans from this site combined. Best to start getting together on this board I guess.

So do mark this board as a favourite board so you can get here straight away and always be noticed when there's a new message.

Vikings: thank you for your explanation (and congrats with your victory ;), I now grasp the idea of the pond game. I thought a pond was a tournament form for any game, but I see it's a game in itself. Indeed it has nothing to do with espionage.

Vikings: Indeed we may ask things that aren't immediately involved with espionage, but we are dedicated fans of the game and want to check out how to get a group together here. So I think it's best to keep the talk here. Thank you for explaining about the pond, eventhough I still don't grasp everything about it. Can anyone get into a pond? Can you make an espionage pond? I don't get the multiplayer thing.

One thing I really dislike about the fellowship is that you have to be a paid member... Also I find it very hard to find players here. I mean I tried to check for players beginning with "SL" but couldn't find them eventhough Mark is clearly here!

I there another way we could create an espionage group? I mean it would be great if we could find eachother easily and inform/invite people for tournaments etc.

Subject: Interested in Espionage Group
Hi all, I've played at BrianKing years ago, I now come here to discuss the possibilies to form a Espionage group here at BrainKing. I've been a very active member of the Sabotage League at IYT, but since we lost our messageboard there and because of other limitations at IYT it's become hard to continue our group. Fencer posted the following message on our League's forum:

Hello guys,
I am Filip Rachunek, the BrainKing site owner.
I am not fully sure what your league is about and what changes it requires, but if someone can send me a descrïptive summary of that, I would be glad to discuss it (preferably at BrainKing's Espionage discussion board [...])

Subject: Volcano-free variants
I made a request for Espionage variants without volcanoes on the feature request board, and in explaining why I was sent to this board.

Espionage isn't like any of the other games. Someone compared it to chinese chess; which doesn't resemble espionage at all. At espionage the pieces are hidden at the start and you can discover them with your recons. That's unlike any other game, that's what makes it special, what makes it espionage. Some people do like the volcanoes, they like a longer, defensive game. The best strategy at espionage is to hide behind the volcanoes and wait for the other to attack.

Without the volcanoes the game has more opportunities. It's more dynamic and you can develop an offensive playing style or a defensive one, but you're not forced into defense like with the volcanoes. I know this because I play the game at IYT, where the versions without the volcanoes are much more popular than the ones with. It's good to offer both options, I think.
