It is a funny old world is it not ?

Just a thought as i am working my way through things for Fencer to think about for the new BrainKing. It is amazing since Brainking started how much it has changed. The amount of requests that have already been implemented, all by Filip himself of course.
Some of the names of people that were here in the first few months, along with those of us still here. It sort of bring back happy memories in a strange way.
How odd the site was then, we did not even have Backgammon OR Boats, and how it has grown.

Let us hope, with brainking 3.0 being developed, it can carry on improving & growing

It does just show that there are strong feeling about this. If the person in question in banned, lets hope that means banned, and not banned of using that account so go and create another

I do appreciate the problem though, and you have more important things to do than chase people and try to prevent them from doing such things.

I wonder if there is away to track account set-ups. You can only hide so much, from people if they want to find out this sort of information. I was only ready a news article the other day about all the latest Proxy's and get rounds, and even using Proxy's there are some sites like Facebook, Gmail, Twitter that give all this info away

Pedro: If that is really how the site is going to be run now , i think you will find ALOT of people leaving, Never heard such a crazy idea

And just to add, i have never had anything to do with those involved ion this converstation, and so have nothing against anyone. Madness !!

Just shows what some people are like, obviously banned for whatever reason, yet they must think it clever to return. Some people just dont know when they are not wanted

Bernice: Well, sadly it is true.

Anyone can create as many accounts as they wish although it is strictly against stite policies. Although Fencer can not always determine if accounts belong to the same person. If the person chooses not to say anything to anyone, then no one would ever know.
In your case, if tthe person is openly admitting that they are banned then IMO they should be remoeved, BUT often it is not as easy as that

Pedro Martínez: Are you sure that is the reason, i am sure it was not there yesterday when i set it as main team

Either way, it should still be there as the Team is still open, maybe the Open teams to join: should be changed to Teams looking for Players: is you are correct

24. July 2009, 01:29:30
MadMonkey
I am not in any Pente Team (not shocking really as i am rubbish at it lol). Anyway, there is a Team Tournament coming up, though when i look at the Tournament, i see this:

Match type: Normal game
Tournament type (?): two games (switched colors) for each two players
Minimum number of teams: 4
Maximum number of teams: unlimited
Maximum number of teams per section: 8
Number of team players: 5
Time control (?): 5 days 5 hours, standard vacation
Status: open
Last term to sign up: 25. August 2009, 04:00:00

You are not a captain of Pente team.

Open teams to join: Radost z vítězství (4), ☼ ¥εstεrday's Wørld ☼ (3), Kapříci (3), ITALIANS DO IT BETTER :D (3), World Federation of Pente (3), The Teamplayers (2), Velká A'tuin (2), THE IMMORTALS (2), Club WebTV (1), Purple World (1), The Mercenaries (1), THE WELCOME MAT (1), The Sunshine Club (1), "Le" Club (1), ABSTRAKTA (1), Polish Power (1)

NOW, that is all very interesting, i can join any of those Teams (well, IF i was in half those Fellowships lol), but agreed, the Teams are open to join if i was a member of the appropriate Fellowship

So, my question is......WHY is the Madhouse Team not in that list ? Is it just because i am boss of it ?
Can someone else look who is not in a Team and tell me what they see please

coan.net: I know how Eliminations work, i play Darts every week in them

I do not see how anyone can complain that certain players get "too" much credit for winning a Tournament

It is not the players fault who entered a Tournament, they took a chance and participated. Whether they won one round or 10 rounds, they put there name down....and if anyone complains about someone winning something too easily the answer is simple, enter yourself

To me the more games started, the more Tournaments started, the more people get to play games, and that is why i thought we were here.....simple

hmmmmm ok PLEASE someone explain to me this:

Madhouse 2009 - Week 24

Madhouse 2009 - Week 24

Byes take effect in the FIRST round on an Elimination Tournament. Looking at these 2 examples something odd is happening. The only way this can work here is if you are having Byes in the next Round & the next etc..etc.. so you could get a Bye to the Final.

To me using Byes, the first column of games should be 4, 8, 16 etc... where the empty spaces are Byes as such. Other games in the Tournament are fine whether they have 5, 7 or whatever amount of players.

PLEASE tell me this is a bug

Czuch: I presume you are talking about the Madhouse Poll i am running to see how many (if any) Brains people have here, so therefore if they can afford to enter Brain entry Tournaments.

Well after 88 people voted, this is how it stands:

Option Votes
NONE 48 (54.54 %)
0 - 20 12 (13.63 %)
21 - 50 4 (4.54 %)
51 - 100 4 (4.54 %)
100 or more 20 (22.72 %)

I think Brain Tournaments are fun, as they give you something to aim for (whether you pay an entry or not).
I remember when Fencer first started Tournaments here (WOW, that was a while ago lol) he ran a Prize one if i remember rightly, though i can not think if it was a Single player or Team one.

This should really go on Feature Request, but maybe it could get discussed here as it is about BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future

Lets find some more ways to acquire Brains that people can use for Memberships or entry to Tournaments and maybe even in the shop in future when it re-opens.

My first suggestion, is once every couple of months Fencer (or coan.net / Tanien) run a Prize Tournament. Maybe one game from each section. The prize does not have to be huge (50-100 Brains maybe), but it would be good to give those interested a target, and you could get a Achievement for winning one (or more site PRIZE Tournaments).

Anyway, that is my first idea and of course it is all up to Fencer.

I do not know about anyone else, but times are hard right now and going to get worse before they get better.

Would it not be great to play for a small Prize and maybe those who have nothing may get a little something for taking part

Hrqls: Surely the easy way is when vacation days are set at the start of the year, that is ALL you get for that year. If you add more membership, then next to this years vacation days have a box or brackets and in there the amount of vacation days you have already for next year, the year after etc.. etc..

In other words, whatever is the set amount for the year that is ALL you get for that year. Any other added is put to one side.

This would make that reason or people doing it pointless, the one we are talking about, just to get more days. Most of us buy membership when ours is either running out, to help others or just because we can afford it at the time, nothing to doing with more vacation days.

This could effect Fencers income though, as those who do it for the vacation reason may not bother.

So is this catch 22 I hope not, common sense should prevail.

Mousetrap: Well i have sort of solved the problem, we now need Fencer to add an extra option. If you set the amount of posts you see to low (i.e. 5) the Music board is fine, BUT of course this effects ALL boards, so may not be right for everyone. 10 is not to bad.

Fencer, could all boards have either there own setting or even just the Music board as it does contain a lot of in bedded material

I personally think a better rule should be found. With this lowest rating thing we may as well just toss a coin at the start.

How about a setting in the Tournament that by default is the way it is OR that can be changed to play another game . That would be a lot fairer way to do it
