Subject: issue with laptop - problem solved :)
Modified by mal4inara (12. July 2021, 06:23:29)
hi all, in the past I usually use my tablet, phone or PC for accessing Brainking.

I have a laptop now, an old one but it will do what I need, hopefully.  It was given to me, just had to buy a new battery.

When I have finished my move, I click on move to next game, and instead it is taking me to the main page.  Sometimes it works, sometimes not.  I have reinstalled Chrome, as that is the browser I prefer.

This laptop is Window 8.1, could that be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.  This loads so much faster than my tablet which is 6 years old, and will be easier to play games.

PROBLEM SOLVED:  well, it seems to be solved.  I was using an old corded mouse, and the issue seems to be with that.  I changed to my wireless mouse from the PC and didn't have any issues.

Here's to playing more easily  :)

Bernice: Probably some maintenance prog erased your password memory for the site, or a windows update causing a little mayhem. Why I have a book for all the sites, games and such. And a USB stick for backing up photos and my Ark evolved game save. Lost months of play thanks to my phone charging via USB cable while windows was updating. Couldn't even use a restore.

Just set it to remember all as you use to.

btw if you use a USB stick to back up or transfer stuff. Remember to "Eject it". Makes sure windows has done all data transfers, else it could have put such on hold while it does other stuff. Saves getting corrupt files

If any are interested in a free video rendering Program for PC's.
Try Davinci Resolve.
Hasn't got all the features of the 'can buy' version. But enough for youtube or home videos

Built myself a Ryzen 3600X based rig with 16gb 3200mhz ram. Vega 56 GPU (know how to unlock to make it a Vega 64), 1TB NVME gen 3 as primary SSD, with a 500mb SSD for less used items.. all presented on a 27" 1440p 144fps 1ms monitor, most expensive part btw. Probably outlive a few GPU's ;)

No moving parts bar fans.
Beats First gen Ryzen 8 core chips in multi thread tests.
Renders 1080p 60fps 10 minute vids in 3 minutes!

Minimal RGB lighting at start. But CPU fan is now RGB, and bought RGB strip.Though Mobo (X470) is just RGB, buying Addressable RGB parts and use a convertor box I bought to give right signal. Thinking lights will last years, so can re use them as pure addressable on next Mobo.

at 1080p easy 144fps
at 1440p 90fps

took a few hours to build, but was over careful. Double checked I knew what I was doing, before doing it. Not a youtuber with many builds behind me.
But it's a very nice system :)

BadBoy7: then my guess would be the graphics card .. which is costly :-(

or maybe just the fan on the graphics card if you are lucky .. but then it would show some screen at first and lose it later

BadBoy7: it could be someone (or something like a cat) accidently touched the button on the monitor disabling the autoselect

another issue could be the graphics card : if thats broken then the monitor gets the power, but no signal from the pc and you get this message

try selecting all your input channels in your monitor settings

Subject: Re: question??
BadBoy7: Off the top of my head, try the detaching and reconnecting cable from your PC to the monitor, that is often the answer...maybe replace it if you have a spare, especially if it looks knackered

The same with the monitor, try a different one if possible.

If neither of those rectify the problem then it points to your PC itself..... take the side of your PC and try removing & putting the Video card back in.

After that, you are running out of possibility's, either the power supply or motherboard
