I can't find the old entry where it is explained how to add a YouTube video to one's Profile. I've heard that one must use the code from the embed field. I don't know what that means. If anyone has time, can someone please explain how to do this?

coan.net: Thank you for your quick response. Some of us are really into the Team Tournaments, and we appreciate that this will be accomplished on a regular basis.

One suggestion that I have is that we include one game that has never been offered before in a Team Tournament before. This will introduce a seldom-played game to new players. I currently play many games that I had never tried before Team Tournaments introduced them to me.

coan.net: I hope you keep us posted on team tournaments. There are some other things ( like interviews) that happen so rarely, with few updates, that one gives up wondering when the next one will happen. Some kind of regular feedback would be nice.

Also, you mentioned that you have to have six start each month. Why did only one get posted recently?

Under the Team Tournaments link, it appears as though Tanein has created a new Team Tournament.

I would like to know who can create a Team tournament.

Fencer: I'm sorry F. I have only shopped with large "corporate" companies online so far, so my statement was too broad and ill-informed.
My passionate response regarding Paypal stemmed from the very, very frustrating experience I had with them. I claimed that I would never pay for a brainking membership again after that experience. Of course, your charisma and my connection with brainking has since turned that decision around.

Purple: Because Brainking doesn't accept credit cards, but every other company does. That's why I gave Fencer's blog today a vote of negative one. The last time I tried to use paypal, I put in the wrong address by accident, then they made me wait five weeks before they would accept payment, just to confirm through visa that I was who I said I was.

I see. But an invitation doesn't have to be refused. It only has, at worst, to be ignored.

12. May 2007, 09:27:01

Because even if I have you on block, you can still be included in a tournament where the criteria is to invite the top 50 players in a game type. Although you might be blocked, it doesn't mean that you should be excluded from the top 50 of a game type, objectively, that is....

I agree with MadMonkey when he said:

"I would like to see regular Team Tournaments, something like 12 every 2 or 3 months (maybe 2 chess, 2 Lines, 2 Gammons, 3 Others(as we call them) and 3 from this group (Reversi, Go, Boats & Espionage) as an idea."

I think a new set of TEAM TOURNAMENTS on the first day of each new season would be great. That would be quarterly, and you could theme the team tournaments around seasons.

I finished almost all of my team games in the last tournament very quickly, and since then I have been waiting for the new ones to begin. They are very fun.

SafariGal: Don't worry, not all registrations are from different users. There are definitely issues regarding accuracy on that point. The amount of active users advertised as contributing to this site is quite inaccurate. A lot of members are very similar to Varol53. They try it out and bail because they don't want to wait so long to find an opponent to make a move.

Dead: I suggested that unrated games should be labeled as "unrated" on the waiting games list. Currently unrated games are listed as "Normal" games. I wish we could relabel unrated games, then filter them out as an option. There is no reason not to, and it is easy to do.

I like the option when creating a new game, to have "your color" be black, white, or RANDOM. I never noticed the random option before. How long has it been implemented? It is a great sportsmanlike option.

Unless you want to make this a public debate, please message Fencer directly about your complaints because I don't want to hear about it.

If you do want to make it a public debate, then you've actually talked yourself into a hole. The fact is, the site is free - yes there are ads unless you want to pay. That makes sense to everyone here. If you want to be cheap, live with ads. You get what you pay for.

Fencer: Thank you. I just bought a new laptop last week with the fastest processor I've had yet, connected to this high speed internet connection that I have here in the city. I've just had to log on four times in the last three hours, and I thought there might be some relation to the new look.

Of course I am almost illiterate where programming is concerned, and sometimes ask naiive questions regarding these things.

Thanks for the quick answer, F.

For all the complainers out there, I'd like you to name any site where the owner and programmer is on so often to interact with our concerns.

BIG BAD WOLF: Ah, I see. I'm still using the old blue outdated look. When I logged in today, it went into castle mode and I had to change it to simple. I haven't been using the simple look long enough to notice if the login was consistently in "simple". Thanks BBW. I'm sure we'll all have to get used to the new look.

Subject: Re: no flags in new layout
Hieronymus: I don't miss the flags. The main page should be as simple as possible. It should be a "Setting", whether or not to have the language flags on the main page. It should also be a setting to permanently have the main page in "Simple" mode rather than "castle".

I've got to say that I didn't like the coercive approach to suggesting that BrainKing users use Firefox. My immediate reaction was abrasive.

I've been using Firefox for two days now, just for BrainKing. It's like Fencer is a sort of father-figure here - You might not like what he has to say sometimes, but it's for your own good!

Firefox is very good.
