Subject: Re:
Bernice: I have noticed that too, and the same pop-up appears at logout; a real nuisance! The problem is that the castle layout is programmed into the log-in page, and settings only controls a player's main page. I'm surprised more players haven't mentioned this here.

It would be much easier (and less aggravating) if the site figured out what recent change has caused this, and alleviate it, or just get rid of that goofy bat (or whatever it is flying across the screen) altogether.

Change your settings:

From the menu on the left of the main BrainKing page, choose Settings from under Profile. Then, on the General tab (which should be the default) at the very top is Main Layout. Change to one of the other layouts. Then you won't see the dragon and the script that runs it should stop being run whenever you bring up that page.

Bernice: Same here. I click on "Yes" to stop running script... hopefully that's the right choice.

I get a different message at another site that tells me a cross script is running. I have no idea what these runny scripts or cross scripts are all about, but so far it hasn't prevented me from doing anything.

Every time I got to log into here a window pops up and says...

Stop Running Script?

A scrift on this page is causing internet explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer might become unresponsive...there is a yes and no button...I always click on yes to STOP RUNNING SCRIPT..

What would be causing this - it has only just started in the last couple days?

It doesn't happen anywhere else except here...I can't log in until i click Y or N

Subject: White Screens - I think I found something!
Modified by Aganju (24. June 2013, 18:28:02)
Today, I got the much discussed 'White Screen' for Brainking for the first time. I was in a restaurant, using my iPad. Here is the interesting part: I took out my iPhone, and - using the same wireless access point - it worked! I could do some moves on the iPhone, and during that time, the iPad still gave me white screens. I then tried to clear the cache, reload the page, close the page, the browser, reboot the iPad; nothing helped. I finally killed the browser, and then it worked.

From my (limited!) understanding for how web servers communicate with browsers, it looks like the browser is using a session ID that the Brainking server is no longer accepting (for whatever reason), and Brainking is not telling the browser, so the browser doesn't know it and keeps using it. maybe somebody with more knowledge can enlighten us.
I think it is definitely useful to know now that it is not your location, network, router, DNS server, etc., as two devices coming through the same access point can have different behavior.

Ok, this is strange. I created a pond called Quit the night and seek the day and another has been created in my name that has the same name and is scheduled to begin at the same moment. I have changed my password now. hopefully that will stop anything else from happening. Someone seems to have me in their sites.

However that is not the reason for my post. You should change your BK password immediately, if you have not done so.

Also you should probably change your password for your associated email account just to be safe.

Subject: Phoney messages
I just wanted to say that it seems somebody has been sending messages posing as me or at least on my behalf. I got a message from Nirvana yesterday that was apparently a reply to a message that I had sent to her or to one of her fellowships. It's been a little frustrating because she was offline when I received the message and has been offline since, so I haven't been able to clarify where the message came from exactly. I hope that my account has not been hacked. The message seemed to have cut and pasted portions of an actual message that I sent a couple of weeks ago to my fellowship members, but mostly stuff added that has nothing to do with me. Someone seems to be posing as me for a joke. I just wanted to put this on the main brainking board in case other people have been receiving such messages. Please let me know if you have.

Why does every click on the BK site - this evening, anyway - finish seemingly correctly, but continue to load (chrome or firefox) while displaying "waiting for google-analytics.com"? Why is BK dependent on this third party site?
