Kipling:
The Stand
opened my eyes to his writings. It was regarded as horror because it involved the results of a bio catastrophe.
The book is not about horror, it is about
Good vs Evil

One of the Best Books I have ever read

Kipling: The Stand wasn't much. The Dead Zone was pretty good. But I'm not a King fan. Give me John Le Carre anyday.

Dolittle: I like some Steven King. I think my favorite was The Stand. I remember reading it when it first came out in '77 (I think). But I didn't like Misery, so much in fact, that I never did watch the movie of it.

Mr. Usurper: the da vinci code is a nice book, a nice detective-like book with some puzzles in them which the main persons in the book have to solve

the puzzles involve the church (i think roman catcholic, but not sure, at least cristian :)) as well as the tempeliers

there are some things said in the book which are a bit controversial ... but nothing people should get mad about ... well as long as you wont get mad about the sorcery in harry potter :)

Mr. Usurper: It is based on the bible and parts of it reach way into the imagination. I haven't read it but that is just what I have heard.
By the way, I found The Grapes of Wrath at a used book store today. Can't wait to read it. I also bought my all time favorite, "Little Women".

Tuesday, it's fine to be fiction but he shouldn't take excerpts from someone else's book.
I am ready for that book anytime you are ready to send it. You still have my addy?

The Usurper:I enjoyed that book too. James Frey admitted that parts of the book were not true. They are saying the same thing now about The DeVinci Code. All that publicity just sells more books so let them keep on talking!

Dolittle: Hey that list thing is pretty cool. I hadn't noticed it. Thanks!

A Million Little Pieces was so good I had my 15-year-old son read it (he's at that pivotal age). He fell in love with it of course. It was an eye-opener for one so young. And now I don't have the heart to tell him that large portions of the book are fiction....very good fiction nonetheless. lol
