Heck i get fruit flies if i leave any fruit out for long.

nobleheart:Some varities do but you will find that most don't. I've got 2 varities brown turkey & mrs williams and they don't need the wasp. But you'll find plenty of wasps around if the fruit is left to rippen as they go for the sweet flesh.

I usually place 3 or 4 seeds in each little nitch. If they all start growing you can thin them out by pulling out the weaker ones..

BerniceC: LOL I know when the farmers plant corn they plant 2 seeds.Now i'm not sure about any other seeds.My husband does the outside also but i have this Pomegrante inside with my houseplants.
I'm gonna have to do more reading on it.

My partner Vern does all my gardening and digs/clips/mows/mulches?...we dont have pemogranate...but the --- is good :)....it must be .....all my veg grow well...so do the fruit? LOL NANA's good and also PawPaw's..

oh wow,I love blueberries.there is a provincial park I know.has an area the dept of agro grows concord grapes & cherries.at the right time of year,you can pick as much as you want free.

I have learned of many spots were you can find things growing wild:apples(there are many forgotten/overgrown orchards),cranberries,wild rice,elderberries,ramp,mint,etc

nobleheart: We have an apple orchard called Twin Orchards they have all kinds of apples.I love to bake them,make homemade applesauce,pies of course.

Foxy Lady: well I dont think so as they say it may go pink :( The lemon takes the real sweet taste of the banana off....I might add that when you boil all that together it gets VERY thick...you spread it like peanut butter...it is that sort of consistency

it is mushed banana's and lemon juice.....boiled and then simmered

skipinnz: we have just finished the Biggest bunch of Bananas we have ever had....we had to give most of them away in fact because as one ripens so do all the rest :(
Yesterday i made banana bread and Banana Jam...Ive never heard of Banana Jam before and Im not to sure if I like it....But my partner says it is alright so looks as tho he gets to eat it lOLOL

Foxy Lady: ah the joys of the southern hemi, I,m growing my banana out side it gets to 8 foot then the frost knocks it back every year. I dream of the frost free year then I might get bananas lol

nobleheart: Being raised indoors does make trees,ferns etc have a whole new look.I'm raising a banana tree indoors from Fla, and it will probably never reach six ft.

nobleheart: Wow! *wonders if that is my first hubby's house* My daughters said he had a 20 thousand dollar tree he got from the rain forest to put in his foyer.. yet, he complained having to part with 350.00 a month for two children for childsupport.. go figure..
