I think so i like those, because you can see where you came in a tourney you'd long forgotten about!

Subjekt: Ponds and Ratings
Please may I suggest that our ratings are re-calculated when we fall, rather than wait until the pond finishes.
Then our ratings will be more up-to-date!

Subjekt: Random Stairs
I think a set of Stairs that generates random games would be fun! (Or at least the ability to add "Random" to our stairs in fellowships)

Subjekt: Another Random request/question...
I know we can create tournaments that are random, but can we add "random" to multi-game tournaments we create? (In other words, I create a tournament which includes the games Backgammon, Hyperbackgammon, and Random game, then either allowing the creator to define what games would be included in the random pool, or having random be made up of the other games already included in the tournament.) If not, I think that would be a good thing to add...

Subjekt: Private torunaments pm's
Would it be possible to put a link at the bottom of private tournament pages (at least for the creator) to send a pm to everyone in the tournament? Sort of like the link that f/s Big Bosses use to send to everyone in their f/s. It would just be handy to announce the winner of the tournament and thank everybody for particpating.

Subjekt: Re: Private torunaments pm's
whatdidyousay: It's not necessary because when the tournament is finished, all participants are sent a message annoucing the winner and their final position automatically.

Fencer: What about allowing tournament creators (or anyone) to make "mailing lists" for private messages?

6. února 2006, 18:28:33
coan.net
Subjekt: Re: Private torunaments pm's
alanback: That is an interesting idea - a way to collect names & send a message to a certain group of people.

At the same time, i would also suggest a way to "opt-out" of all mailing list messages. I have left fellowships where the BIG BOSS sends out too many "group messages" where you read the same information on the fellowship discussion board, and I'm sure there would be a few that would also send out a lot of these also if allowed - so would be nice to block all..... if that feature request is done of course.

Subjekt: Pawn members daily movement activity
I would like to be able to view a Pawn member's daily move activity. Perhaps you don't want the Pawn members being able to view this information, but I find it sometimes helpful in deciding to accept an invitation or to send one myself. I thought there was a time in the not so distant past that paying members could see this on a Pawn member's profile page. Or am I remembering it wrong? In any case I think it's be nice to have the information available.

I like your idea. A comprise of sorts. Let the paying members see the information and the free members not see it. Sounds good to me. Fencer says there's no problem with his computer being overworked either.

Subjekt: Tournament pages
When I search for tournaments in a particular game, such as backgammon, I click through the tournament screen and the game screen in order to join. Then I click "back to the list of game types" and "back to the list of tournaments." It would be nice, when I have previously searched for tournaments of a particular type, if the system would remember those settings and take me back to the search page showing only the type of tournaments I searched for. In that way I would not have to perform the search repeatedly to join several tournaments of the same type.

Subjekt: Re: Tournament pages
alanback: There are two options for having that now. One is to use the browser's Browse Back which will return you to the search results. The other is to go forward using Open In New Window (or Tab if using something like FireFox). Just close it when you're done and the tourneys' page will be waiting for you.

Subjekt: Re: Tournament pages
playBunny: True, but I think it would be an improvement to the normal functioning of the site to go "back" to the actual page one arrived from, rather than to a different page. If I wanted to go back to a generic "Tournaments" page, I could do so in one click off the left hand menu.

Subjekt: match elimination
Is it possible to create a tournament that is single elimination but has three game matches? (example: I enter an elimination tournament of dark battleboats, I am given one opponent like normal but I have to play a three game match to decide the winner and the winner of the match goes to the next elimination round). I could see the benefit for both battleboats as well as gammon and most of the variants of both.

Not sure if this is the same, but nirvana's tournements of the random kind are 3 wins matches, so i geuss it is possible to do 3 game matches
