Yes, it is especially bad for pawns stuck in tournaments in these situations. A membership is rather in-expensive, though! :-D

as a rook, he has 30 vacation days per year. I don't know how many he has left at this point. Hopefully not many! lol.. i have a game or 2 with him too..

Basically, Yes. He has selected "auto-vacation".. so that games will not time out, for as many vacation days as he has left..
