That is some seriously good music JD.  The lyrics posit hope, with despair.  There were tears behind my eyes on the second hearing, that I then knew were there on the first.  Gerard Way has a fanTASTic voice.  It almost feels endless, like he could go forever and never reach the wall.  Well chosen, thanks for sharing that.  I plan to buy the CD, because the whole album is a story, according to Wikipedia, and I intend to feel the whole thing.  The band cites Queen as a strong influence on the album, as well as Pink Floyd's The Wall.  I can hear that.  But, they have struck their own vein.  Here's hoping they continue to mine it.

You know, sometimes new music feels like just so much noise, or venom.  This was neither.

MOUSETRAP:  MICHAEL CRAWFORD'S VOICE IS JUST SPELL-BINDING.  i SAT HERE ENTHRALLED THROUGH THAT WHOLE VIDEO....AFTER I FIGURED OUT THE POOR WOMAN DIDN'T HAVE A BIG OLE ZIT ON HER FACE.  MY MOUSE WAS WATCHING TOO THROUGH THE CURSOR.  HAHAHA!

SEAWOLF2:  SOON THERE WILL BE OTHER WAYS OF GETTING TO THE INTERNET.  DON'T GIVE UP TOO SOON.  PLUS, YOU CAN GO TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARY, AND USE COMPUTERS THERE.  BUT, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY WILL LET YOU STREAM MUSIC IN THE LIBRARY.  AS FAR AS TV IS CONCERNED, I ALSO RESENT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THAT INDUSTRY.  I HAD SATELLITE FOR 4 YEARS, BUT I CUT IT OFF NOT TOO LONG AGO.  I DON'T MISS IT AT ALL.  YOU FIND MORE USEFUL THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR TIME, LIKE PRACTICE YOUR OWN TALENTS.

JIM THE DANDIEST:  I'M LOVING ALL THIS PHANTOM STUFF.  THAT CLIP GAVE ME CHILLS.  AND, LOVELY PIECE, AMAZING GRACE.  SHE HAS A HAUNTING VOICE, VERY FLEXIBLE.  THERE'S SOMETHING STRANGELY SPIRITUAL ABOUT THE AURORA BOREALIS.  i'VE NEVER SEEN IT, AND I MUST BEFORE I DIE.  *ADDS IT TO HER ITINERARY*

NIRVANA:  THANKS FOR POSTING THE JOSEPH BRUCHAC VIDEO.  HE HAS A LOT OF CHARISMA.  I WOULD LOVE TO EXPERIENCE HIM FACE TO FACE SOME TIME, AND WILL BE LOOKING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO THAT.

I WONDER IF ALL THE ABUSE STORIES ABOUT KENNY ROGERS ARE TRUE.  I FEAR THEY ARE, AND IT RUINED HIM FOR ME.  HE HAS A GREAT VOICE, THOUGH.  IT'S JUST THAT HE DOESN'T USE IT TO ITS BEST ADVANTAGE.

EVERYBODY:  GREAT STUFF TONIGHT.  I WAS WORKING FOR 12 HOURS TODAY, AND WHEN I SAW 30 NEW MESSAGES, I ABOUT FAINTED.  WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE, ALL THE NEW THINGS PUT OUT FOR THE PLEASURE OF OUR COMMUNITY.  Y'ALL ARE THE BEST!!!  AND THANKS FOR JOINING US THIS DAY, SEAWOLF.  WE HOPE YOU STICK AROUND, YOU SEEM TO HAVE A LOT TO OFFER.

Rock 'n Roll was born today in 1954, if you don't count all the blues, and gospel, and soul that came before as its base.  Elvis Presley recorded  "That's All Right (Mama) * and "Blue Moon Of Kentucky " at Sun Studios in Memphis TN.  The record was released on July 19th, 1954.

And, Robbie Robertson of The Band fame is 64 today.  Think he'll retire?  I doubt it...I hope not!  His
Ghost Dance is posted for my Native American friend.

Awwww awesome, you love it.  Rock 'n Roll is where the creativity is.  Jerry Lee, I had to two-step up and down the hall on that one.  He's definitely my contemporary.  He used to play on Saturday nights in the country outside the town where I was born.

So tell me, JD, you still go see the moving pictures packing your rain gear?  I love Rocky Horror Picture Show.  Now, you have me thinking about renting it.  Or, maybe even buying it.  Not long ago, I saw an interview with Meatloaf.  He's a changed man, he even got serious about life.  I didn't know that he was a serious, and very talented, actor, and that was his passion.  How about a little Hot Patootie?

Eriisa:  Yeah, that's kinda what I was saying, except when you have studio equipment, everything is clearer.  When you have a 4 piece band in the living room, you can hear lots of stuff, but not a lot of detail.  I can assure you this man had never heard any music from the Beatles' Revolver at that point in time, if ever.  This was back in 1966, and it had just been released that summer (3 days before my birthday.....is that why I've made my career in taxation? - it's the BEATLES' fault, [exp] them).

Jim Dandy:  You have to admit the accoustics aren't the best in the living room of a suburban tract home.  You couldn't hear anything clearly but the instruments.  Plus, there is something to be said about the sensitivity of the person who is insecure about his weight anyway, and his lack of familiarity with the "music of the day".

Jim Dandy:  Well, I didn't know if it would be forthcoming, but I should have known you wouldn't leave me out on the cold.  Hahaha!  AND, I have a story about that song......

Back in the dark ages, my brother played lead in a band.  They were practicing in our living room one afternoon, and a guy who worked for our dad came over for some reason.  The guys were practicing that song, Taxman.

Well, this guy was rather obese, and he had evidently never heard the song before.  He thought they were singing Fatman, and got all puffed up about it.  I honestly don't know if he ever got straight with that.  When he left suddenly the way he did, it never occurred to us until my mom told us.

Nivabef:  Thanks for the link to Antigone Rising.  I'm maybe behind the times, but I'd never heard them before.

That was interesting, JD. Was he barefoot? I have a friend, she turns 51 Sunday, who until last year played lead guitar in an all-mom grunge band. I learned to accept it after following her around some. It is a totally different style from what I usually listen to too, Riissy. I have a CD of theirs, I should get one for you. The songs are great, one of them being, "Pick Up Your Socks." Typical mom issues in a totally different package.

Nirvana: Great stuff!!! Especially Dire Straits, and Fleetwood Mac. I recently caught a concert with Fleetwood Mac, all of them gray of hair (Stevie's was blonde, but as she says, "women usually are"), and still rocking and rolling. There is a DVD out, and right now I can't remember the name of it, but what a trip! I have some of the music from that show on my machine. I have since gone out to pick up that concert. It's Live in Boston. And, here's a cut from it....

And, Knoffler. How young he was. I don't think anyone on that stage was straining to put out soooooooooo much sound. Thanks for doing that for us.

题目: Billy Joe Shaver
TexasToest修改(16. 六月 2007, 05:31:11)
</object>

Didja ever wonder who wrote some of Waylon's, Willie's and Johnny's music.....oh, and did I mention Elvis, and Bob Dylan? Here's the man, another of the Texas' Outlaws. Billy Joe was born in Corsicana, just down I-45 from me. I always cut off there headed down Highway 31 across country to the "Heart of Texas", Waco, and parts south.

On New Year's Eve in 2000, Billy Joe's son, Eddy, died in his sleep of an overdose. He was a phenomenal guitar player, and he played with his dad's band. Hope you enjoy this cut. I love the song. Freedom's Child is the name of a Shaver CD released in 2002. It was the first CD after Eddy's death. It was such a relief to hear that familiar voice again. We've all (us Texas music fanatics) conjectured it was written for Eddy.

And, that big domed building at the end of the street about 3/4 way through the song...in the scene shot down the middle of a street?  That's the Texas Capitol building built entirely out of Texas pink granite.  It's quite a sight to see.

Yeah, Jim the Dandiest, I figgered it out!  Now to figure out how to make text act normal in the regular text editor.

For all those who want to know how to embed YouTube videos here:

Change to the plain text editor.
Go out to YouTube, or any other site that offers embed code,
On YouTube, it is just below the URL box.
Click on the embed code (starts with <object width....)
Right click and copy, or use CTRL-C
Come to the Music Board (it only works here, in Notepad, and personal profiles)
Right click and paste or use CTRL-V to get the code in the text box.
Click on send, and voila!!  The video has been populated on the Music Board.

Derek Trucks is probably my favorite guitarist right now. He has been playing guitar since he was 9, and has played guest spots with the Allman Brothers Band since he was a little tyke. He's been seen with Eric Clapton as well. His uncle is Butch Trucks, famed drummer with the Allman
Brothers Band. Derek Trucks now plays officially with the Allman Brothers Band, and he has his own Derek Trucks Band. This is his own band.

One thing I REALLY love about him is he plays barefoot. Barefoot is what us 60s hippies call people who play without a pick. Please enjoy
