How many moves would a game of Go take when played this way? Forming the 'perfect grid' you speak of should take 180 or 181 moves, but you will most likely have placed some extra stones early in the game that don't fit into the grid. This might be thegame that can last longest, especially if one plays over the end, placing stones into the opponents territory until it is divided in one-point-eyes, then play into the own groups until they can be captured.
