When creating a new game im given a few rating options. Such as < or <=.. what do these mean? Let's say my chess rating is 1600.i want to put up a chess challenge but only want my opp rating to be between 1400-1700.. what symbols do I put on the challenge

I'm involved in a tournament where one individual has not made their fist move yet in over a month. They are on Auto vacation mode and their alloted amount of vacation has not gone down each day, it stays the same and they still have not even been logged in since October. is this a glitch? also does auto vacation ever deduct if i move in some games and not in others? if i have 30 days and i move in 3 of my 5 games will i still lose a day? since i did not move in those two games?

how can i move the ratings on my main page to the bottom of the screen so i can see my opponents more without having to scroll to the bottom of the screen?

fischer clock stuff again: is it possible to be down to 1 hour of time remaining, then work it back up to a 15 day max bank by moving very quickly the rest of the time?

AbigailII: yes you are correct but in theory it is not (should not be) correct. there must be an exception where once a day you may be away for 8 hours { for sleep, we all need it eventhough some of us seem to always be on! =) } and not be punished. So there needs to a be a system in place that allows for that sleep time. punishing for sleeping! uggg.

AbigailII: actually no the person who responds instantly is the faster player. if im playing you in chess and i move at 1pm you move at 2pm i move at 2:01 pm them you move again at 3pm then i move at 3:01 i will be considered teh faster player. but here is where it gets tricky if i make my last move for the night at 12 midnight and my opponent moves ar 1am and i cant move again till 11am i get punished. but pedestrian summed it up the best and i agree with everyone. just dont join a risky time control.

the main thing that really bothers me is that even if i move 10x a day and my oppenent makes his move 1 hour later than me and I make the last move of the "night" and then i go away for 2 days i lose the game even though i was the main person that was moving quickly. i get no credit for the immediate response of a move. its the immediate response that makes for a quick player.

im a little unsure about how the clock works. am i able to do this with the fischer clock... 1 day per move is the time setting, if i move 3x per day you can gain 6 hours bonus time. so in this situation if i move 6x in the 1st two days i will not have to move for 1 day 12 hours, prior to timing out. 1 +6+6=1day 12 hours. the important part is having to move 3x... if it just calculates a single move pper day the clock will not work.

Am i able to buy brains even though i have a black rook membership. i enjoy creating prize tourneys. Will it affect my membership?

IM in a game of chess that has deadlocked i offerered a draw 3x and it wa snot accepted then he offers me a draw and then makes a moves so this nulifies the draw. if i do not move yet again i will lose how can this be avoided? i dont think he speaks english to communicate the draw.

i also checked this on guest mode and it seems that it is open to all players.

i am unsure if the settings have taken hold. I currently have two games posted both with settings where players with low ratings under 1700 or 1800 cannot play me. in the past players with 1100 have been able to play me. Its says anyone can play when i look at my posted game.

I still am unable to adjust the quailty of the ratings of the people i wish to play. for example i posted a game of open espionage but i do not with to play anyone lower than 1800 and no higher than 4000. i clicked the area where you can adjust this but when i posted the game it says anyone can play. i have been trying to figure this out for the last 2 years with no luck...

I was noticing that you have to play more than 4 gmaes now to get a provisional rating. How many games are required now?

i dont have any room left for games. i was in pnonds that shouldve ended by nwo and now i cant fit into the ponds i had signed up for. will we be able to enter mroe games than our memberships allow?

will it get sent back to normal? or will a pond that say is on a 1 day time limit continue on with its current time limit o fsay 5 days. or will you immediately set it back to normal?

im in a game with a person who should have timed out 5x already but there time jstu keeps recycling. they were down to 2 hours to gobefore they time out, now it back to 22 hours to move. But there is no sign that they are on vacation.
