Carpe Diem:No problem, you are not the only one here (by far) with too much games running. Congrats to manage them, btw

I think Fencer should put a limit even for Rooks, like 1000 or 1500 games max.

Carpe Diem: Yeah it can easily happen so don't worry I understand.

I started a Japanese Chess tournament 3 years ago that is still running. Half of the players only hold pawn memberships so they have been tied up for a long time which I feel pretty bad about so I think Rastlin made the right decision on time per move.

I know I've been guilty of that, and I apologize to everyone for it. When I started here, I loved it and kept joining tournaments, not completely realizing what I was getting myself in for as they didn't all start right away. Before I knew it, I was in 3,000+ games and in way over my head - I was able to keep up for a while, but then busy periods in life just got me too far behind. And the unfortunate things is once that happens, it takes a long, long, loooong time to solve it, as you find yourself moving in games at the last minute, which means the games last longer.
I haven't joined more than a handful of tournaments in the last 6 months or so, and I'm only now down to 1,500 or so games - a much more manageable number, but possibly still a little high. Fortunately I've managed to avoid a boatload of forfeits, and with almost 4 days of vacation still left, should be able to make it through the year. But I know there have been a number of tournaments where my games are the only ones left at the end, and there are times when I'm plowing through games to catch up and miss some "good luck" messages. When I notice them weeks (or months) later, I feel rather silly responding, so I don't bother at that point.
Anyway, sorry to opponents who I've made wait for a long time, or whose messages I (inadvertently) ignored. I'm managing my game starting much more carefully now.
And thanks for the tournament, Raistlin! It's one of the few I've joined recently, and it's been a lot of fun. And one where I'm not the guy holding it up.

Chaosu:Some people may have thousands of games running, so they dont even have time to say good luck :) Its sad...
And about the pace, i really dont like playing a tournament lasting for years, as these same players are usually very very slow, playing each move at last minute.
This really plague the site, imo.

the pace is too fast for me, i lost quite a few games just by missing 4 somewhere. i could stand it despite losing a lot of points to weaker players but there's one thing that really makes me upset. bad manners. almost noone answers my good luck/thanks in game. if you're not going to do that just block the messages at all like some players do, then you won't be expected to have some manners.
