You don't need to be an artist to do this.

Some special shots can be used once per game as long as the ship is still alive, some can be used more than once. Also there are planes on the aircraft carrier that can be used for surveillance. However how about adding a 3rd variation to the list. I call it Battleboats Deluxe. The premise of this game is you get one shot per turn, but if you hit a ship with that one shot you get to shoot again until you miss. I play with a battery operated handheld battleship game while at break at work and this variation is on it.
