God is awesome in so many ways. Look how the bus load of children were saved. We don't know why these things happen.. but they do. I pray dear Lord that you will look out for all those injured and the familes of the ones killed... also the 20 or more that are still missing. Guide the Drs. and caregivers through this.
I pray that our family friend ..Greg was not there at this time.. I know he travels that bridge quite often, too. PLease dear Lord look after all in this time of need.. I will continue to keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

Abby is expecting our first great grandchild. She found out yesterday that she is having a little girl. Abby is very young and I pray to God that she carries this baby thru and will be a good mother. Sometimes we can't tell what our children/grandchildren will do or how they grow up. In this case she really needs our prayers.

Thanks for the prayers. We have had some rain fires have stopped for now.
Fireworks and fire crackers were banned in Cape Coral. Things have been so dry. They had about 10 minutes fireworks for the display. This they did over the water.

Cape Coral, Florida has a huge fire burning. It started yesterday from a ligtening strike. They thought it was out and this morning over 500 acres was burning. It now has jumped the road and going into huge residential areas. The people were told to evacuate. It is over 2,000 acres now.
The firemen are fighting this fire in 97F weather. Fire Departments are helping from 19 different counties. The city is in smoke. Our church is very close to the area. Florida has had fires all summer long. Many peope have lost their homes.
We pray for much needed rain. The biggest drought in years here.
Please don't forget the people in Calif. and Texas. They are in need of our prayer, too.

We are in need of rain. It is so dry and we are having fires daily, it seems. Many houses have gone up in flame as well.
I75 was closed most of the afternoon and evening..Southbound. The smoke was to thick for people to drive. So if you will just say a prayer for us during this time of drought we would be so thankful.

Jon had the surgery for his cancer. He is doing great.
My broken toe is finally healed. The surgery on my tendon and foot is doing great. Dr. checked it and said he is very proud of the job he did. I will have the other one done after summer. Gives me a little rest from cast and the walking boot.

He saw the Dr. His cancer is treatable. He has to see the Dr. that sent him
to this specialist. He has to have one more shot before the treatment.They will put in over 40 radiation seed things.. I forgot what it is called. :( Quite new. This they will do in Mid- March.
Jon is still running everyday. Ran a 6 miles race yesterday at Naples, Fl. Did quite well, but of course he thought he could have done better. The runners talk, I think. LOL
Jon is taking everything very good at this point. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. Please continue to keep Jon and our family in your prayers and thoughts. Thank you

This morning huge tornado wiped out 3 counties. Homes, business and mobil home parks. There were 14 killed. The destuction is unbelievable. Looks like a hurricane. We are safe here I am father south.

My husband, Jon just got home from the Dr.
He took tests a week ago for Cancer. He has Cancer of the prostate. It is at the early stages so hopefully they can get it before it spreads to far.
He needs a couple more tests after Christmas to see how far it spread and what kind of treatment they can do. Jon had Malanoma about 4 years ago. They got it all and has been Cancer free up until now.
Jon has been caring for me during my surgery and now guess it is time for me to care for him.
All our family will be home during the holidays. God Bless

On Christmas Eve of last year my cousin and her husband were killed on a 2 lane highway in Texas. They were almost home driving from Iowa. They were in a Van and a drunk driver in a pickup hit them head on. This will be our first Christmas without them. Our famlies was very close growing up. It will be hard this year on theirs and our family... We do need your prayers at this time. I also pray it doesn't happen to anyone else.
The word I want to get out here is if you drink Do Not Drive. We want people safe while driving. I pray that we all stay safe during this holiday season.

EASTER STORY COOKIES
To be made the evening before Easter.
You need:
1-cup whole pecans
1 tsp. Vinegar
3 egg whites
Pinch salt
1-cup sugar
Zipper baggie
Wooden spoon
Tape
Bible
Preheat oven to 300 degrees (this is important-don't wait until you're Half done with the recipe)!
Place pecans in zipper baggie and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was Arrested He was beaten by the Roman soldiers.
Read John 19:1-3
Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp. Vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, He was given Vinegar to drink.
Read John 19:28-30
Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus Gave His life to give us life.
Read John 10:10-11
Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and Brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty Tears shed by Jesus' followers, and the bitterness of our own sin.
Read Luke 23:27
So far, the ingredients are not very appetizing.. Add 1cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him.
Read Ps. 34:8 and John 3:16
Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks Are formed. Explain that the color white Represents --in God's eyes -- the purity of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus.
Read Isa. 1:18 and John 3:1-3
Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper-covered cookie Sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid.
Read Matt. 27:57-60
Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF.
Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed.
Read Matt. 27:65-66
GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in The oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb
Was sealed.
Read John 16:20 and 22
On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice The cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow!
On the first Easter, Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb Open and empty.

Sorry, I didn't get back here for the
update, as I was in the hospital myself.
Kyle is doing very well now since the casts were taken off. I saw him Christmas Day and he walks just like he should. He hated the casts on as when they took them off his legs were dirty and itched from the casts.. He had to be washed off good. He now walks just fine and we are so happy the Dr. tried this. Guess some children do this but not as long as Kyle did. HE still is getting the ear aches but hopefully they will get less, too. Other than that he is a normal little active boy.

Bluesday: Kyle is doing pretty good with the casts and boots . His walking looks better,but with casts on there is no way he can walk on his toes. Will just wait until the casts come off. He has to be in them 3 more weeks.

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY GRANDSON KYLE
Kyle is our youngest daughters twin..age 3. He stopped breathing at birth. God saw fit that Kyle was to be with us. Drs. brought Kyle back to us. He was a little smaller than Blake..but has caught up pretty much now.
He seems like any other little boy..except when he started walking he started on his tip toes in his bare feet. First it looked like maybe a baby thing or habit. Then it started to get worse and now even with shoes he walks and runs on his toes. Really, he is so fast its hard to catch him sometimes. He always has been more senstive, hyper and still crys alot. My daughter and son in law took him to the Dr. yesterday. The Dr. said it could be muliplesclerosis.. another one he mentioned or maybe just a habit.. They have now put casts on both legs. This will be very hard on Kyle but the casts have to be done. Through this trying time for Kyle, my daughter, her family and our family please keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers. I know that thru God's help Kyle will have the best of care.
