The Stand opened my eyes to his writings. It was regarded as horror because it involved the results of a bio catastrophe. I haven't read it but that is just what I have heard.
By the way, I found The Grapes of Wrath at a used book store today. Can't wait to read it. James Frey admitted that parts of the book were not true. They are saying the same thing now about The DeVinci Code. A Million Little Pieces was so good I had my 15-year-old son read it (he's at that pivotal age). He fell in love with it of course. It was an eye-opener for one so young. Is an excellent read. I highly recommend it.
