alanback: <pre> is a (X)HTML element for pre-formatted text. The text is displayed in fixed-width font, and formatting information such as line feeds and leading spaces or tabs are preserved. So if you write somthing in one line without inserting a line break and put it in inside a <pre> element, it results in on line and doesn't get broken in parts.
Fencer: Could you have a look at my last post on the Madhouse Board. Its one with some Tournament results. I set it out different from normal as you can see, by copying the URL locations & letting brainking convert them. Just to make it all neat any tidy i used the 'pre' tag (you taught me lol), but it has no effect. Is this down to me not using 'a href=' attribute and naming it myself or another reason ?
edited by me, just done a test, it appears the 'pre' tag no longer works
Gordon Shumway: I just created a Single elimination for 4 tourney (posted on Tourney board). I put in for random seeding, random starting (when applicable) & 2 wins to advance.
joshi tm: But it indeed levels it up a bit.. In a normal game currently the Mancala stats are ca. 60% white, 4% draw and 36% black. In a 1 win match a player who starts with black has ca. 38% chance of winning (if we just look at the white/black advantage, not at player skills of course..), in a 2 wins match ca. 44% and in a 5 wins match it is ca. 47%, which is close to even.
MadMonkey: sometimes it seems to me that it works better when i wait a little longer before i hit the submit button .. so i select the dice, then wait, and then hit the button
Does anyone else ever wonder if sometimes in Poker the dice you select to roll do not actually seem to roll. I think of the times i have rolled 2, 3, 4 or 5 dice and got exact the same numbers back. Just seems to be a very much above average of probability (someone can work it out lol) that this is happening. An observation really as i do not play a lot of Poker, someone who plays a lot would have a better idea i guess
joshi tm: That's not nice ;) Well, when it comes to unbalanced games like Mancala I'd always prefer 3-wins-matches or something like that, so things get a bit more even. But why not let it be random who's white and who's black?
Great. I requested this feature for in some games one player hass an advantage. For example in a Mancala elimination tournament always the highest rated player wins.
Arctic Warrior: The same thing happened to me a couple of nights ago. I learned my lesson... I should always copy and save the whole profile to the notepad after I finish with a profile edit... that will solve a lot of time. :-) You could also save old versions of your profile there and can always go back to one of those... ;-)
I didnt edit my profile today, yet it has completely disappeared... (That was when I first logged in and posted that it disappeared) Now, I just looked and there is a profile but from months ago, Not the one that was there lastnight.
Fencer, its Wimbledon, but we have no Tennis Smiley Found some HERE and HERE and HERE(nice Monkey ones there too ) could you borrow one or two do you think
So - there are 49,314 players listed on the player list - but 42,391 have been inactive as of June 20, 2007..... that leaves 6,923 active members in the last 4 days.
alanback: A little while ago on the Computers board, I mentioned a useful online utility for icon and image resizing. (It will let you preview an icon or image, so you can decide whether the result is worth saving/uploading, or needs additional work.)
