Right now, there will not be a new round if the previous round had only one section. Like in that example, round 2 had only one section, so there will be no round 3, ties or not.

I setup this tourny, but alas it gives me no provision to go to another round, but yes I agree it should go to round 3, guess its up to Fencer now.

Yes, I see now. I was mis-interpreting what I was seeing. At a quick glance, I thought those were 4 other sections, not the results from round 1.

You are right, the 3 of you should have played another round until there was a final winner. I know IYT does it that way.

On the "Winners" page (new option on the left hand side) - it list all 3 of us from Round 2 as winners of that tournament.

The four sections in round 1 were already played, with the 4 winners each going to "Round 2, Section1" - which has ended with a 3 way tie. - which looks like the end of the tournament to me.

It seems to me, all 3 of you from your section, as well as the winners of the other sections are about to start round 3. Or are you saying that somewhere it is stating you are the final winner of the entire tournament????

That tournament is counting as a tournament win for me in the "Winners" list - so I don't think a round 3 is going to start.

I think it should definitely be extended until there is a final winner.

I know how it is currently set up - if there is a tie in the last round of a tournament, it just ends as a tie. (for example the Open Fast Backgammon (3) tournament)

I guess my question is if there are any plans to extend a tournament for more rounds to find one winner, or if it will always stay like this.

My vote is to extend it - what do others think?

I have a tournament on the tournament page (BIG BAD WOLF presents: ALL 5 Gammon Games!) - and it is time to start, but I'm short players for the Backgammon Race & Crowded Backgammon games.

Hey... Where are all the anti-reversi players???? I've signed up for quite a few anti reversi tourneys, and there is rarely enough to start the tourney. So, I decided to create my own, and do a little advertising to get people to join! So come on! Join the Hot-Rod anti reversi tourney by April 5! LOL.. what a goofy name, but oh well! There are 4 signed up now, so this tourney will definitely be happening.. Let's get some more!

i think there should be an option to take yourself out of a tournament once you know you didn't win. like after you played all your games and stuff. that way you don't have to wait for everyone else to finish their games and you can join another tournament.

You have fixed it! I was able to join Dragon's Professional with out any problems.
Thank you very much for handling it and doing so on such short notice. This tournament says I need 10 slots available. Does that mean 10 or more, or 11 or more? I need to know so that when I finish some games I won't add more with rematches. I currently have 13 going.

I have 13 games going at the moment and am trying to join "Dark and Atomic Challenge (Dark Chess)". It is in the single game format and the note says to have at least 5 slots open. I have 7, but it won't let me sign up. "grenv" had a tournament posting a few weeks ago called "Dark Chess Challenge #2", that I had signed up for. As far as I can tell, he cancelled it and then posted the Dark and Atomic tournaments. The only thing I can think of is that cancelling the tournament left my name on the list somehow even though it is no longer visible on the tournament board. Any help or ideas for me? Thank you.

Kevin - Interesting question, and since I like to test things - I just tried to make a tournament, and selected Line4 game at the top and bottom - and it only created 1 game.

So there is your answer! :-)

Yep, it does look like it works. I didn't try it, but i wonder what would happen if you selected say Line4 as the game for the tournament, and also checked the Line4 box at the bottom. Would it make 2? :-)
