MadMonkey: Yes, of course a Pawn has to have enough spots to START a NEW tournament. That's completely different.

It would mess everything up if someone couldn't continue on to future rounds of tournaments.

MadMonkey: Actually, unless something has changed, there is no need to save any slots for the next round. Regardless of how many games you have going, you still move on to future rounds of tournaments.

cd power: From the Help page:

8.1.3) Triple gammon

This is a special tournament type for backgammon games (and variants) only. The section system is the same as for round robin tournaments - everybody plays one game with every other player of the same section - but the backgammon scoring rules are used to determine the number of points to the game winners:

* 0 points for a loss
* 1 point for a normal win
* 3 points for a gammon win
* 5 points for a backgammon win

Please see the backgammon rules page for the gammon and backgammon explanations.

If you click on "Gerry"'s links, you will see that they are not really all the same message. Each link goes to the specific game of the main tourney, and it lists the winner.

Others have posted congratulations to their tourneys, and it has always been allowed.

Yes, I suppose it would be nicer if they could all be grouped together into one post.

"Hide" does work though, if anyone does not want to read them.

wins 6 month rook membership

And it says it is 2 games each player, type tournament.

Modificado por rod03801 (3. Fevereiro 2008, 20:42:44)

It's time to sign up for Triple Dice Poker *6D* for Brains! !!

Poker should involve gambling shouldn't it!? So, put up 50 brains and take a chance.

It will be 2 sections of 5 people each. Each player will have 2 games against the players of his/her section. The winners of each section will go to Round 2.

First place will receive 300 brains, and 2nd place will receive their 50 brains back.

Brains can be purchased on the "Brains" page. It's only 7 Euro for 150 Brains! Win enough, and you could buy a membership with Brains, instead of cash!

2 days per move, fixed weekends only. (No vacation days)

It will start as soon as 10 people have signed up.

Salongo: I am sure everything that was typed was perfectly acceptable.
Moderators who only understand one language are at a disadvantage of course, and have no way of knowing what something not in English means, of course.

I am always impressed that so many people in other countries are so multi-lingual! I only know bits and pieces of Spanish and French (other than English, of course, lol).

Anyways, I am going off topic now..

Cheers!

Assunto: Re: MOVING
Bullets9mm: The thing is, if you join a tournament with 5 days per move, you have to assume at least a few people are going to frequently take all of that time for each move. 5 days per move really isn't "short". In fact many with that time control will be some of the longest!

If you move that much each day, 1 day per move tournies would probably be great for you.

Sometimes, it can't hurt to send a nice personal message to someone who is taking a long time, and they may actually speed up for you. I know lots of people who have hundreds of games going at once will move on their games in order of time out. They probably aren't INTENTIONALLY trying to hold things up. If they know someone is wishing they would speed up, they may start specifically looking for games of that tourney.

Also, one thing to remember is that if as a Pawn, if you are in a tourney where your own games are completed, and there is no way for you to move on to the next round, you can send a message to Fencer, and he will probably "release" you from that tourney so that you can join another. (and not wait until every player in that round is done playing)

In those, maybe the Mancala portion only needs 1 person until it starts. (I didn't check) But that link should help you possibly find one.

And Yes, for single elimination, you only need 1 open slot..

But, since the system DID declare it a draw, the rules must be as gambler is interpreting them to be. I interpreted them the same way. As soon as a player does not have a move in their turn, the game is at that instant, over.

Assunto: Re: Running vs. Open tourney
Marfitalu: Yes, it seems as though it should stay in the "Open" list until that 2nd deadline is passed. Otherwise there is not much good in defining that 2nd date, since the only people who will notice are perhaps people in the other games already running in that tourney. (Or posting a link here, which is a good solution for now!)

anastasia: I believe you have to be the captain of the team to make challenges. But regardless, there is a spot on your fellowship's main page that will have a drop down menu of teams of that game that you can challenge. You click on the team you want to challenge, then set up the tourney.

rod03801
Assunto: Re: Adding games to stairs
BIG BAD WOLF: When you go to your fellowship page, and click on the link to a set of stairs already set up, down at the bottom of the page, will be an area that says something like "add game to your stairs" with a drop down menu of any games that are part of your fellowship, that are not yet on that set of stairs.. You simply click it and add it.

22. Fevereiro 2006, 02:34:42
rod03801
Well, you can only define stairs for games you already have as part of your fellowship. So, if Halma is the only game you have set up as a team in your fellowship, for example, you will have to add teams for the games you want to add to your stairs.

You don't have to create new stairs for the new games. You can add the games to the stairs you already have set up.

Assunto: Re: can we pair people up?
anastasia: No, you cannot pair people up yourself using the brainking tournament system. You have to do all that with regular games and call it a tournament (as you seem to be doing)

And your opponent timing out doesn't help your BKR if they time out in the first 2 moves...

I am actually thinking that there is probably no need to give the creator any option to control the BKR level in random tournaments. (At least in it's present incarnation.)

12. Fevereiro 2006, 22:22:27
rod03801
Also, since you made it a Random tourney, I believe there is no way for your BKR constraints to be automatically checked by the system.

Right, the creator decides the "pool" of games that the random games are generated from.
