SunFire: I think you can do that by going into Settings and then, on "Sort next game by" choose "time of last move" ascending.
Haven't tested it though because I don't have any waiting games right now

Assunto: Re: free game slots for tournaments
WhiteTower: You need as many games slots as there are possible games to be created. On a tournament that has a max of 4 players per round, you'll need 3 free slots (single game between each 2 players) or 6 slots (2 games between each 2 players).
These values are maxed at 5 and 10 respectivelly. So, in case of a tournament with max 8 players per section and only 1 game between each 2 players you'll only need 5 free slots.

Yes, but it would allow us to know the difference between a "programmed" downtime or server maitenance or something like that (BK error page kicks in) and a network problem (standard "cannot display page" error)

Assunto: BKR change
Can we see how many points each of the opponents won/lost on finished games? I mean, I don't keep them all game over messages but every now and then I'm curious as to the outcome of this or that game in terms of how many points I won / lost with that particular game.

Is this possible? (this has nothing to do with the recent changes - it's a wish that comes from some time back and has just been remembered in the portuguese forum)

Could there be a filter for "Post bugs posted by me only" or something? Sorting by poster and then finding my name in th middle of the message bulk is not a very satisfactory solution...
I'd like to keep track of the bugs I posted to see if they are doing well or if some more info was required and I just missed it or something...

Maybe it could be added to the BugTracker as well? It would help people monitor bugs they could be interested in following up on without having to post in them to receive mail notifications or adding them to the bookmarks...

Assunto: Game notation
Can there be an option to hide the game notation or something? For longer games and slow connections, it makes the page take ages to load, puts unnecessary strain on the server and makes my bandwith quota go away faster...
I'm thinking of games like Anti-BG, where the game notation can represent more than half of the page source code.

Then again I can see the usefulness of displaying the last few moves to help you quickly review the last moves. So, instead of hiding it entirelly, maybe just display the last 5 moves or so and a link to show the rest of the notation, if wanted...

Anyway, the idea has been thrown to the arena, do with it as you see fit ;)

On the main page there is a line saying something like "Total number of started games: 22 (you have 28 free slots)".
The number 22 here equals the number of ongoing games plus the number of ongoing ponds.

Id like to request that this number also includes the number of pending invitations (from me to someone else) since these games actually influence my hability to start new games.

AbigailII: aggreed that the time displayed isn't necessarilly the total game time left.
But as it is now, a value is still displayed, and it's the value that is valid at each moment.

Anyway, my point was to have an indication that allowed us to distinguish between the two type os time control. How it is done and it's full implications I'll leave it to Fencer ;)

Assunto: Fischer time indication
On the Main Page game list, each game has a reference to how much time there is left. But there is no distinction between time left for the move or time left for the game. The later definitelly need some special attention and shouldn't be mingled between the rest of the games (and only come to the top of the list when their time is running out).

Can this information please be added? Some suggestions:

  • New column with indication of "type of time left" (game or move). This would allow to sort by this property
  • On games running on Fischer Clock, add a red dot next to the time left with the legend on top (game time left)
  • Separate this type of games into another table

I personally prefer the second and hate the third (but I always add even the ideas I hate - it may trigger some good ones as well).

Assunto: So many BarinKing.com's
With all the new languages the number of DB's named BrainKing.com is growing. And I've added a few of them to my favourite DB list. The problem is they are all named the same. So it's getting confusing to know which one is which.

Could the names please be changed so that they have a change in them (maybe BrainKing.com/pt? or similar)
Another alternative would be to have the flag next to their names.

Any chance the link at the bottom of the page for the web usage statistics goes to an english version of the statistics site?
Or there isn't such a thing? :(

Is the site really getting 28000 page hits at peak hour? (over 7 pages per second, if I got it right)

What do 'Zobrazené stránky', 'Návštěvy' and 'Návštěvníci' mean? (just curious that's all)

Czuch Chuckers: no game should time out on that day. Not necessarilly in the next 24 hours. If autovacation only kicks in in a game at 23:00, a game at 01:00, next day will still time out (or trigger another auto vacation day).

This one hour limit would be a good way to prevent those "1000 moves Anti-Backgammon games" though . The player who can stay awake the longest wins!
