Fencer, i can't remember if this is the right board or not, but could you please look at game 412380? i thought it should have been over but maybe i'm wrong Thanks a bunch! :o)

yes, relative URL is "relative" to the web address you are currently at.
For example, we are already sitting at http://brainking.com/ and the extension can be relative to where we are

6. Novembro 2004, 15:00:04
pauloaguia
I don't know if either is right... Fencer said the absoulte URL's would be converted to relative URL's and neither of our 'proposals' of relative URL's worked :)

Typical, no reply for hours then two come along at once ;oD

Thanks for the explanation!

I think relative URL is like /game/Board?bc=1
and absolute url like http://brainking.com/game/Board?bc=1

6. Novembro 2004, 14:51:27
Gror
Relative URL is URL like www.abc.com
Absolute URL is, when you type http:// first, so you write http://www.abc.com

Whats the difference between a relative URL, and an absolute URL? For all us dumb folk who don't speak computer ;oD
In other words, what do we need to type for it to be a link? Just the www.?

6. Novembro 2004, 07:58:30
Fencer
Kevin: You don't have to use relative URLs for internal links - even if you make an absolute URL, BK will convert it to relative automatically.

Quite handy if you want to quickly copy/paste links.
Doesn't look as pretty though

Yea, Fencer did that a few weeks back - I find it still a little buggy for example when you put the HTML code for a link, and also inlude the address as the link description - it will throw a mess on the screen.

edit: Actually I just tested what was messing up in the past, and it seems to work now - so just ignore my part about it being buggy

Bumble: You mean like: < a href=/game/Board?bc=181>Link< /a> rather than < a href=http://brainking.com/...>Link< /a>? We've been able to do that since all other links were allowed :-)

Assunto: Money Brokers
Has anyone outside of the UK used the moneybrokers site to renew a membership? It's asking for a mobile phone # to confirm SMS which means nothing to me. I cant get past this to renew. Anyone with any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Er, how long have internal links been 'live'?

Eg: http://brainking.com/game/Board?bc=181

i check it and it. it is correct.
thanks Bry
thanks Harley

It could be from two games matches where both players won one game.

Maybe you should ask that on the Halma board, Purple :o) (My answer would be that they've got fed up, or both played well and decided on a draw?!)

4. Novembro 2004, 21:31:58
Purple
I notice some Halma players have drawn games. How can a game of Halma possibly draw?

4. Novembro 2004, 21:18:04
Bry
Harley - Nuno... thats my interpretation too.... "=" meaning "equal" games?

4. Novembro 2004, 21:11:05
harley
I think the (=1) would mean you have one drawn game with this player? I'm not certain though :o)

4. Novembro 2004, 21:01:49
Nuno Miguel
Hi, in games we can see the past score with a player, like this for example:
Score of finished games (Nuno Miguel - XXXX, Anti Reversi): 4 : 0 (= 1)
what means (= 1) or (= 0) like i have in some other games?
Thanks

Thanks Harley and BBW. I have a flag. Just wondering why everyone else didn't.

Flags - If a user does not select a country, no flag is displayed.

Bluefin, its just personal choice. You don't have to have a flag.
If its JUST on the game board, but they display a flag elsewhere, it would be your browser not reading it? Try right clicking where the flag should be, and click 'show picture'.

Why is it that some members don't have a flag on the game board ?

do matches count as 1 game in the bkr and number of games played ?

i just won a match of chess (its a miracle indeed ;)) .. 2-0 ... but only 1 win was added to my list .. and i think my total number of games only went up by 1 as well

i am not talking about a banned board .. more like a flame board (as i have seen in more places) ..

the people who like to insult and be insulted would go there ... the ones who wont dont

but of course such board wouldnt come into mind when someone thinks of a game site with fair playing people ... it would lower the sites advertising for what it really is .. a games site

i think i vote against the idea myself ;)

3. Novembro 2004, 20:58:35
Jason
yes but if people did that they would only be able to post on the banned board and nowhere else lol.
but how many would still go to the banned board to see whats being said lol ?

3. Novembro 2004, 20:57:43
Hrqls
what about a non-moderated board on which everyone can post .. if there is an issue which cant be dealed with in a polite manner .. it has to be taken to that board .. it leaves things open to insult people in public .. and it leaves people with the opportunity to ignore the board

3. Novembro 2004, 20:56:06
harley
I know Jason. I was apologising for editing posts from both of you.
