I'm on webtv too, and this does happen once in a while.. I have a feeling it has to do with the cache getting full... but don't quote me... but yes, you need to disconnect and come back to fix it..

You can hit the Cmd and then R key 5 times in succession real fast bui the surest way is to turn it off and re-connect.

I just read my last message and it could be taken the wrong way.. by "Teams can play each other" I mean that a team member may join a 'fellowship tournament' (for members just of that fellowship) and find themselves playing their fellow team members.
I thought I'd better explain that so there was no misunderstanding! :o)

Otsikko: okay!
Well, I look forward to seeing it implemented... I would love to play atomic team chess! :) *drools*

Thats right, Zucan! Teams can play each other, but not different teams from other fellowships yet.

Otsikko: Meaning?
Do you guys mean that basically team support is there, but the code isn't there yet to be able to have tournaments between the teams? That is what I think I am understanding here... I think... :)

Otsikko: Re: What are teams in the fellowships?
the teams in fellowships are for team tournaments againsat other fellowships , but they havent started as yet ....(its still in the pipeline)

25. Elokuu 2003, 18:57:42

In the future the teams will play teams from other fellowships. Which is why you can only join one team of each game type per fellowship :o)

I've just timed myself to get to a game of backgammon, make my moves then go to the next game. 21 seconds.

I'm not commenting on what guys do while they're playing games on here. It's not pretty.

Ha ha ha, well for myself I can click and eat a sandwich at the same time (mouse in one hand, sandwich in the other!) ... but if we're talking about the GUYS... well its a well known fact they can't do two things at once so I guess they click... bite... click... bite!!! (only kidding guys!)

LOL yeah a lot of moves can be made in seconds... one click for a battleship bombing, it doesn't take much study of the board to do your next move!

Otsikko: Re: NEWBIE QUESTION!!
if you have lots of games going , there will be a percentage of those games where your move is forced to a certain place & if your on almost all day you can do a thousand moves easliy ;))

yep....they make a hell of a lot of moves, and yes isnt it amazing....Im flat out making 100 or so in a day....but then im only on for about 3 hours each day :)

Otsikko: NEWBIE QUESTION!!
"most active players" make about 900 moves a day...is that 900 moves in games they play..(their own moves AND opponents moves added up) OR do they make 900 moves THEMSELVES each day??? that would mean they make more than 1 move pr. MINUT for TWELVE HOURS A DAY!!! ??? that´s just

incredible.

General Chat has 6,813 :-)

No, stored data like this would not slow down anything at all - as long as there is enough space.

Otsikko: to help the server out
One thing that might lighten the load on your servers is to reduce the number of messages held on fellowships and the reg discusion boards. Some of the messages are 8 or 9 months old, there is no reason to keep them that long, some of the DB's have 500 to 600 messages.

lol peacepickle, I wish I had such high rating there..

but, Fencer/Kevin, sorry to bother you again with this.. I am glad my rating got restored, but:

BefOre I won this game I had the rating 1333 - once you win a game, your rating get higher, right? Could you please then upgrade my rating, as it should be? Or do you need to know my opponents rating as well at that time? - that would be 1666..

Thanks for your help,
~*Radiant 36:9*~

Chief: If you want, you can go to one of your games and change the number (after g= ) to the number you want. Or, you can go to their profile.

I had one game where it took it a couple minutes to realize i'd won, but it did eventually, and it only happened that once to me. Hopefully Fencer will look at it.

If we want to view a particular game and we have the game number is there a place on the Main Page where we can enter the number to pull up that game? Or do you have to go to one of the players profile?

ANIMAL: in four in a row you win when you place 4 -or- more in a row, at least it always has been at the other game site i play on.

SueQ: i have never seen this happen before either and i think it must be a bug. i hope they get it fixed soon. i would become a member here, but i think i'll wait and see if the site becomes more stable first.

OK, what is wrong with this site now?? on Game# 170774 i should have won the game when i played E-4 on move #27, right? but it didn't end the game and the other player won at e-5 on move #28. so i got a lose when it should have been a win? can someone please look at the game and tell me why this happened. it's bad enough when hours of moves are removed and have to be replayed, but now a win is a lose... you have a good site, but the bugs are taking over. ;o(

Angus, the swap dice option disappears when the other die would not allow you a valid move.

Otsikko: ?????????
I can understand why some of the GUN players on here NEED to play 500-600 games at a time...it creates records etc that can be bragged about at a later/current date.
BUT when someone starts a "FAST GAME OF FIRST FIVE SIGNED UP" anything, and then proceeds to only move twice in 2 weeks......WHY BOTHER...
take the time to play your own tournaments...it is giving me the Sh--ts....waiting for the smart ones to move :(
sorry but had to say something

Doesn't the "swap dice" disappear when you have a piece on the bar and can only bring that piece out with one of the dice? Could that be what you are seeing?
