Rules say: "The other player gets a bonus of 2 points and 1 point for each own frog which was not found by the opponent."
I don´t understand this. ¿¿2? or ¿1? points?

Dont know if you want to check this Fencer, but this is the reason i asked for that Feature.
My Ludo Captain "Snoopy", just posted a result on the Madhouse board that she JUST got in a message.
Now what i find odd is i already have that result on my list at home from about 2 weeks ago when i was going through results.
So, what happened in between LOL

If I go to the tournaments page, the first 9 tournaments are way past their sign-up deadline; the first tournament is even 300 days past the sign up deadline. They all seem to be tournaments that require a Brains entry fee. Is this a bug? Or do tournaments with entry fees never get deleted?

MadMonkey: In Nine Men's Morris you also lose if you cannot make a move.

BTW, I think that Nine Men's Morris would make a nice addition to BrainKing. It's an old game with proven playability, with simple rules (making it easier to program than say, chess), and it has several variants (with three, six and twelve men; Wikipedia even mentions variants with 5, 7 and 11 men).

MadMonkey: If I am not mistaken, in some Mancala variants, when you have no move you win all marbles still on board. I don't especially like such rules (as I don't especially like the stalemate rule in chess) but they do exist.

MadMonkey: "Often" is not an accurate word. Furthermore, rule adjustments are done mostly to games invented by BrainKing users. Konane is a game created a long time ago and there is no point to change its rules now, only because you don't like them.

Fencer: Quite right, but as rules here often change on new games(as has been proved lately), i just which to know what is right.

And has also been proved unless someone says something, which is normally only a handful of us here, nothing ever changes

And a question on that Fencer, what is the percentage of players (nearly 40,000, alot dead agreed) actually do write on the board ????????

MadMonkey: Hey, if you'd get a draw whenever you did hard work, I would never lose a game!

Beside Backgammon, you also have Ludo with passes. And Go where the player can decide himself whether he passes or not.

AbigailII: Agreed, but does not mean its the right rules to use.
It was discussed when Ataxx first came here, why cant we have a pass as in Backgammon ?
Why does Backgammon have to be the only game to have a Pass ?
I just think that if a player has done alot of the hard work, WHY should they lose ? A draw should be the worst they get - IMHO

Asunto: Re: Actions if you cannot make a legal move.
MadMonkey: Losing when you have no legal move available is quite normal for Checkers variants. In fact, you lose in Checkers itself as well if you cannot move. You also lose in Anti-Chess, Chinese Chess, Espionage, and Tablut if you have no legal move available. In the gammon variants, you pass. In Ataxx, a stalemate isn't always draw - a stalemate ends the game and the one with the most points wins. It's only a draw if both sides have the same number of points.

and while i am here (morning by the way) is Hawaiian Checkers the only game in the world where the person winning loses if a player can not move.

Chess, stalemate = Draw
Ataxx, stalemate = Draw
Hawaiian Checkers, stalemate = person with least points wins

Fencer: I have not checked myself, but does the system allow you to click "roll dice" if you have no dice chosen?

If so - put a block - that way if someone does double click, the second click would be with no dice marked, and should not count as a roll.

Asunto: Re:
Fencer: It's simple to avoid really - just add a variable to the request with the roll number or something like that. If that move has already been done, then no need to roll the dice again.

Asunto: Re:
pauloaguia: That's a good point. I know that some people make doubleclicks instead of normal clicks and, of course, the server takes them as two consequent requests.

Asunto: Re:
Czuch Czuckers: Maybe you're double clicking the submit button? That would count as 2 effective rolls. This double click may not be conscious, but some bug in your browser that interprets a move while you click as a new click (one for the hold_down and one for the release button events).

Asunto: Re:
Czuch Czuckers: it has never happened to me either .. but i did come across something which might look quite similar ..

sometimes when i click on the 'roll dice' button it gives me the same dice again .. then i select the dice again and click on the button again .. sometimes it still shows the same dice after that ..

that way it might look like no roll has happened .. but in my case it was just the statistically correct chance that the dice might show the same numbers again (chance 1/6 per die, 1/36 for 2 dice)

Asunto: Re:
Czuch Czuckers: 1) Pauloaugia is probably right. 2) The mere fact that you are shouting and panicking is not a reason to revert the game moves. It occasionally happens that people see strange or bizarre things, e.g. frogs instead of dice, boards upside down etc. None of these events has been proven as BrainKing's fault. 3) From the site code's point of view, there is no logical situation which would cause what you describe. I've tested this game many times on many different browsers and it never happened to me. Anyway, although it is pointless, I've added one more (and quite redundant) check to the dice roll method, just to ensure that it works correctly (and it does).
That's all what I can say to this subject.

Asunto: Re:
Czuch Czuckers: Are you playing them all at once? I mean, if you roll the dice, and then click "Play Later", when the game goes back to you, you won't have so many rolls to do since you already done them.
Not saying this is what happened, just trying to help figure it out.
