Go to Settings, and click on Calendar. There you can check off vacation days, or use auto vacation

It DOES seem like it should go both ways, rabbitoid. I agree.

I changed the subject, because I hadn't originally put one in, and it wasn't as clear what I was laughing at, because another post came inbetween..

:-)

Oh please. Slam is Jesus???

That's just silly

It's called "consequences for your actions"

And if he is indeed still making other pawn accounts, the length of time should be extended, each time he does it.

Um, you KNOW no one knows this information?

I miss Slam's sense of humor too. But, if Fencer re-instates him earlier than he planned, I think it takes away the "deterrent" (sp?, lol) effect. Sort of like putting a child on restrictions, then not following through on it.

Hasn't he been "sorry" before??

Again, I DO miss him around here, too.

Yes, ughaibu..
They see the page as a "Guest"

I just tried it.

Yup. That did the trick..

Reminder to all WebTV users, anytime something seems odd, Power Off and come back!
I give that advice all the time, but this was a new one!

Oh.. I guess I may need to power off the good 'ole WebTV then, and reconnect.. Thanks

Yes, Backgammon games seem to be working normally.. But reversi games, line 4 games and halma aren't. (For me anyways!)

Subject: Moves not being highlighted.
Is it just me, or is anyone else noticing that moves are not being highlighted right now? For example, when I make a move in Halma, the path of the piece I move isn't being highlighted. My opponent's move isn't highlighted either.

Please at least edit it.

Pedro, It is very inappropriate that you post that here! A complaint like that should be sent to Fencer, personally, rather than here where anyone any age can read it.

I guess after a long work week, I'm feeling too sensitive.. LOL.. I thought I was being scolded..
No problem at all.. :-)

Ok, sorry, I hadn't been there yet.. It was being discussed here, so I don't really think I was being off topic!

Auto vacation is a great feature..

However, I have to agree that perhaps a limit is needed.. It seems unreasonable for a tournament to be held up for potentially 30 days.. It seems as though a maximum of 2 or 3 days added through auto-vacation, per occurance, would be a good compromise...

Fencer mentions the "non synchronization" on the tournaments discussion board.

17. October 2004, 22:49:40
rod03801
It could have been automatic vacation, but it could also been as Stevie described. When the time was turned back on, some of my games were scheduled to time out on my weekend days (which in this case is monday and tuesday). Fencer mentioned that some of the times were not synchronized yet. So I am assuming that for cases like this, he programmed it so that this would not happen.

rod03801
Ahh.... too bad that method will be used to show pictures bigger... :-( ... Most of the small pictures are difficult to see well, on a television. And webtv can't use this "hot spot" method..
Oh well! :-)

16. October 2004, 05:26:20
rod03801
What's the new "hot spot" that webtv can't see?? Just curious what we are missing. :-)

15. October 2004, 03:34:29
rod03801
The definitive answer IS, if the picture is seen by you, Fencer approved it.

15. October 2004, 03:29:43
rod03801
Fencer approves the pictures before they are put up. So if Fencer allowed the picture, than yes, I guess it would be okay.

Of course discussing politics belongs elsewhere. But she was suggesting it was unethical to have a picture that might possibly describe your political views, on this board. And of course that is not unethical.
Trying to cause trouble, in my opinion..

15. October 2004, 03:08:59
rod03801
I doubt it was ever intended to be a form of official identification. It is JUST the ability to put some sort of picture next to your name. Be it your own picture, or something that describes your personality in some way, or whatever else someone chooses. Nothing to do with ethics...
Lighten up.

MrLoupcity, No, there isn't a limit on how many boards you can have on your "favorites" list. Mine is quite long! :-D

Daniel, you mean games sorted by the name of the game? Then just click on "Game" at the top of the column where the games are listed. They will then be listed alphabetically by game name. If you click "Game" again, they will be listed in the reverse order.

4. October 2004, 03:06:18

Then use the Hide feature, LongJohn.. And no personal attacks here.

Scooter. What do you mean?
That game is Spider Linetris. When an edge is filled up, it disappears. You can either click on the list of moves, lower down to see this, or use the backward arrows to go back moves and see it.

Not necesarilly. Even if I had a computer, I would still surf the web with my WebTV. I do not want to be stuck sitting at a desk while I'm playing my games. I prefer sitting on my couch with the webtv remote control..
Of course, a lap top would solve that! :-D

The numbers on the espionage pieces are impossible for us to see on webtv (or i should say MOST of us probably)... the sizes are a little different, but not enough to easilly tell them apart..
I was looking forward to playing it!

28. September 2004, 05:28:52
rod03801
Not being able to see some of the smaller, more detailed pieces very clearly (the frogs, and the espionage pieces) is not really related to webtv itself, but the fact that a television screen has a much lower resolution than a computer monitor.
At least froglet is still playable. I find Espionage to be completely unplayable on a TV. :-(

plantiger, a few people now have golden rooks... See the "Paid Membership" page for details.. I think they have been around about a week, or maybe 2... Last I checked, 6 people had them..

Seems to be fine to everyone else...

18. September 2004, 03:29:11
rod03801
Ahh.. I see where the "hot spot" is. Now that I changed Settings, there is a blank space between "Main Page" and "New Game" in the menu.
I can confirm that indeed, it does NOT work for WebTV... :-D (For the reasons stated in the previous post)

Doesn't sound like something I'll miss too much anyways, though.

Can someone describe exactly what you see?.. I'm just curious... I can't check in to Brainking from the computers at work anymore..

18. September 2004, 03:14:47
rod03801
JavaSCRIPT works with webtv. But as IMupChucKing stated, there has to be at least a link for us to move our "cursor" over it.
An example would be, that I believe if PC users put their cursor over a flag, it says what country it is? (I know it's something like that.. I could be wrong about exactly what it is.) But since the flags are not "clickable", we can't place our "cursor" over it, and get that information. So whatever it is you guys are talking about, I'm sure it most likely won't work with WebTV

That doesn't sound like something a "graph generator script" would be needed for..

A graph to see the ups and downs of our BKR's over time? That's great!
(Is that what you are saying?)

That game is private.. couldn't check it out. I am also WebTV, so I was hoping to see this problem, as I've never run into what you described before.

2. September 2004, 20:19:09
rod03801
I could be wrong, but I don't think it's a hint.. I think he is saying that he didn't say Froglet would surpass backgammon by next week. Perhaps further down the road..
I took it as a hint at first as well! I thought maybe a smaller board would be coming.. (I agree that the 12x12 might be too big)

2. September 2004, 19:16:26
rod03801
Maybe all of those criteria? Games that are high in most of those categories are obviously the most popular?
