I know that BK can fix a lot of issues automatically but I'm not sure what would happen if some software failed. I hope Fencer has plans or some negotiations going on. In my opinion if he gets some membership support and nothing serious fails I think we will see BK in 2018 just no guarantees as he stated in January 2017

When ever you have to moderate people they hate you....like emma even fencer had to put her on total ban.

I didn't mean to stab at you buddy. This place would of been a hate zone without mods and usually your the only one available when a mod is needed.

Hate me?! WOW. Guess it's those people who can't accept someone doing their job. I would like to think if those "haters' knew me on a more personal level, they might realize I'm not a monster.

Anyway, good thing I don't let something like that bother me. I don't know the people personally who hate me either. Though I also don't "hate" anyone here. There may have been a couple over the years though. lol. but they seem to be long gone. And I probably didn't "hate" them either. "Strongly annoyed" maybe. And I possibly thought they were immature *****s. But there's plenty of those in the world anyway, not just here.

I DO love this site very much.

ellieoop: I have known Patrick Chu since around 1997 when he was attending University of NC where IYT was born. It came online and been in operation since 1998.Developing, testing, and supporting IYT is handled by Patrick, two other full-time software developers, and a part-time support staff.ItsYourTurn.com has over 3,000,000 registered accounts, records around 1,000,000 game moves per day that result in over 5 million daily page views. I think with a BK staff this site could of grown to unknown possibilities. I think when fencer and paypal had the fight about the brains and paypal insisting it was gambling (you know paypal right your wrong all the time) I think when he discontinued the brains it was the beginning of the end. Some may remember that and people complaining because fencer took down that payment option for paying membership. We also must say fencer should of had a PR moderater and he should of just counted the money. Pat Chu discontinued the public board because its impossible to babysit millions of folks. It got out of hand. I must give fencer credit, he took a lot of rude remarks but allowed the public boards to remain. Many of us hate Rod, but think what it would of been without him, even if he may had been wrong in his decisions.

I guess my point is there is no other site I know of which you can create your own fellowship, or a gamesite of your own within a main site. The idea to send out your own invitations, create your own games and perimeters is very unique. I hate to see this die. I still see a light at the end of the tunnel. I wish fencer would consider a "down payment" while he holds the finiancing note he could help a team of buyers and a programmer understand his code. Fencer did say in the past he would stick around 1 year for free and help out a new owner, but that was a few years back and things have changed. I think a advertising campaign and a new programmer would only begin a rebirth here at BK but many think its too late.

Marshmud: Yes Brainking is a far superior game site to itsyourturn in my opinion. I played in IYT years ago and left before they closed down the discussion boards. I re-joined in 2013 and to me the site was so dated compared to Brainking. It did not appear to have much done to it to improve the site. But it is good fall-back if and when this site closes down.

itsyourturn was the first gamesite of this kind. i joined there in 1999 or beginning of 2000, 2 of the players there were Chad and Taylor, they started goldtoken soon after that, Fencer was playing at goldtoken and one day he announced on one of the boards that he was starting his own site and named it..I came here as soon as I saw his post, then my friends from GT came here and I started a club.. a few of us are still here.. Rodney was already here and had a webtv club and we all joined his club. this was a fun site, I still think it his. I hate to see Fencer leave us..

Marshmud: I can imagine that without implementing BK on social medias and creating new web interfaces it is hard to increase the new user rate, even if the main bugs get solved by a new programmer. to think in future you need also someone being able to spread the wold through internet and social medias, so that it reaches out new people... I actually believe that without a good pr actions and implementing i.e. into facebook games etc. it can be harder even for a new team, which only focus on programming. if the goal is to get new users, there must be thought about new ways...maybe.

but if there are some players which you mentioned with ability and knowledge about BK, would be interesting to hear their view on it. But I guess we will never know? Did someone ask directly Fencer about his perspective on a minimum amount for taking over the side?

can anyone explain why itsyourturn has 3+ million registered players and BK has 117,000 and BK is such a superior site and both are near the same age? Just curious for input. It still seems like BK could generate income still. Is this site to far gone? I mean to have a fair price tag? I don't see it possible unless a player/programmer like fencers old partner Liquid would work for future profits and a percentage of all income. Or a Mctrivia or ThunderGR or playbunny comes along and works for free. Each of these player/programmers spent a lot of time considering doing so in the past. I think the price tag for BK was just a little to high but BK is a premium site. I just wanna pull a Donald Trump and purchase it as a distressed company however I don't believe the current owner sees it that way. It is his dream and baby so I understand that as well.

so yes, everything was already talked about a lot of times, doesn't make it less interesting to speak again about or even to make jokes about, right? haha

it's still the biggest mistery what happens after 2018, so yes, it will come up again and again on all discussion boards, why not?

And I'm not sure if anyone notices that fencer is gone for days at a time without logging in and the site runs fine. I know we are not going to get new games and features fixed but I would like to at least see it move on as it is until someone hopefully buys it. I donated to BK in the past and would do so in the future if I knew it would stay online.

Brian1971: You are correct and we have talked about this many times now. Its a different world with international affairs dealing with internet gaming and the tax laws and loop holes. Fencer has enormous taxes to pay on his sale of BK.
. Its very expensive for lawyers to protect your money...its more of a hand shake when you buy the gamesite and have the data transferred too your server of choice. The data comes from the other side of the planet its not like you have a 800# to call and complain. Its a risk to anyone that is not a programmer.

Aganju: Some of us has communicated with fencer and we do know what he has in mind. Now I assume that price may have changed in the past few years. Now since he wont list a price tag or the fact we have no programmers willing to work for free I think it is immaterial what we chat about until a price is communicated. I don't think it was worth 50g in 2015 and I'm sure its not now. In the eyes of the owner a serious offer may not be what we think it is. With that said you would think others here at BK would like to know the asking price and many have asked publically with no replies. On the other hand we have no idea what has been communicated privately.

OK let's be optimistic for a moment and say either one or more people came up with the money to buy Brainking from Fencer. Who will be the administrator that will take time each day to make sure all is running the way it should? If you are going to add new games, who will do the programming for these new games? How are the monthly fees going to be paid to keep the site up and running? You are not just buying a game site, you are investing in a real business. A business that needs good and proper financial bookkeeping records and a way to pay expenses and if their are any salaries to pay, making sure payroll is met. Running the site may also take you away from other aspects of your personal life with friends and family with no guarantee of making a profit on your investment. Before diving in make sure you have a solid business plan that a bank would buy into if you ever needed to borrow money for the site. A lot to think about than just buying a game site to play games. You can play games in a lot of different sites. I am not discouraging anyone from doing this, but make sure you have all your ducks in a row first. Pay a business lawyer for about an hour of their time to discuss how to do this.

Be aware that this was discussed before, and various estimator sites give very different values. What matters is what Fencer considers a serious offer, and that is still not publicly known (but it is probably higher than this estimate).

It is very difficult to build a group of people from all over the world that trust each other enough to chip real money in, but I'd be willing to be a part of it.

Marshmud: Yes, I will keep making them - usually I have more up before they last ends, but have been busy - I will sit down and get them made soon.

SUGGESTION TO BIG BOSSES: As fellowships are having a harder time getting teams together, if you have a popular fellowship, with many extra members on your teams - maybe look at being a partner with another fellowship, or even encourage some players to spread out to other fellowship teams. Since we have been having a harder and harder time getting enough teams to enter (sometimes even the popular games are only getting 4-5 teams to enter, which if there may be enough players for a few more teams if we work together.) I know if won't be easy, or kind of defeats the purpose of building a big powerful team, but the more teams we can get, the better the team tournaments are! Just a thought.

Subject: Re: Site Team Tournaments
coan.net: I guess I agree with MM because we do have problems with getting teams together now. My suggestion is to make the popular games a larger team maybe 6 players and the less played games a 4 player team. I know monkey and myself will actually play with another fellowship just to get a tournament up and running.

Other then that I'm excited to know that the team tournaments will continue.
