imsoaddicted: I take it the pop you are referring to has caffeine in it? I had the same problem about 4 years ago and was told to get off the pop. I was drinking diet coke and about 3 litres ormore a day. the headaches lasted about 2 weeks ( withdrawl from the caffeine) Once you get through that the rest is a pie of cake ( bad pun for the diet board)
The difference once you ween off caffeine is amazing. I was getting migraines, huge pains in my neck and legs nearly every week. I no longer get migraines on a regular basis now that Im off it.
Hope that helps!

*to ween off, go from 2 litres to just 1 for about a week or so. Then cut that in half for another week. Unless you wanna go cold turkey like I did, but the other way the headaches may not be as bad.

Rose: Well it seems I did find my will power after all. 10 gone so far and still going strong. I guess I can keep it up this time.
Anyone else tried or trying to lose and doing well?
Ive discovered the most satisfying snack or light lunch. Liptons cup a soup. Most are only 50 cals and 1g of fat! u cant go wrong there.. add a few low fat crackers and its a tasty satisfying lunch that allows you to have a treat as you dont use up many calories!

Subject: Time to wake up this board!
We have all had our Cripmiss goodies and gained a few here an there. Now that we are all back on track it is time to get back to our diets (nasty old word - I prefer life change myself!)

Anyone losing weight right now or wanting to?
Who has tips, tricks, ideas or even yummy snacks we can have while we drop those pounds?

I have been going to Curves for a little more than 2 years. If I hadn't found it I am sure I would have had a heart attack by now. My job consists of me working on my computer 8 to 10 hours a day and my play time is on my computer so you can imagine how wide the butt was getting. dumped 60 lbs so far and in the best shape Ive been in double digit years I'm happier than ever!

Anyone have any ideas on how to get added fiber in to your diet if you are on low carb eating?

No matter what we do to try to keep healthy there will always be something to hurt us in todays society. You can get cancer from breathing.
I think until my country bans Diet soda I will still partake in it. We can't have sugared sodas cuz we will gain weight and the sugar will cause grief too. You get diabetis from partaking in too much sugar.
I think the key is moderation. I really dont think a drink or two a week of any diet soda will cause you to become sick. I've drank it for years and I am fine.
Like anything in life if you use it in moderation you will be ok

Hi folks..
The only way to count soda pop as water is to drink diet, decaf pop. So sprite, 7up, decaf diet coke etc are ok.. Dont forget you can count a glass o milk as one of your waters too!

Thanks Dolittle. I started Last Nov, mid month on the diet. But I joined Curves last May (which I gotta say is THE best place in the world for women to go - no men allowed and women of all shapes an sizes go to get in shape so you dont feel self conscious about your self at all) I didnt take the weight loss thing serious enough until I had been at curves for 6 months, working out alone wont lose all the weight, you still have to change your eating habits! I sound like an Ad for them but 30 minutes a day really works! gets you in shape and wow you feel so good with in only a month! Their staff are super helpful, they have a few books on weight management that are amazing.

I agree that low-carb counting really works! I am not on Atkins but the Curves low carb plan. I have dropped 53 lbs and counting! I tried slim fat, Weight watchers, thurmans 6 week body make over and a slew of other diets or weight loss gimmicks. THE only one that has been a success for me is Low carb. I read all I can on low carb eating to make sure I cut out the bad carbs but keep the good carbs. YOU gotta eat some good carbs to keep balance!

You said it there Kanga! I noticed a big drop in my weight when I started to walk daily on top of going to the gym.
I also have a huge water bottle at my desk all day and when I feel a tad hungry that big gulp o water usually does it. I also eat 5 or 6 small meals a day not just two or three main ones. I find eating smaller meals more often helps alot.

WTG Kanga. I too have found taking it off slow is the KEY. I have dieted more times then I have fingers and tried every diet out there, but this time it is working. Because I am in no hurry. Changed my life and eating styles and am taking it off slow. I exercise every day (walking plus I go to a ladies gym - Yea Curves!)
Every time in the past that I took weight off fast it came back with a vengeance so this time I am hoping by taking 18 months to 2 years I will have changed my life style enough that I wont go back to the old habits!
Never quit trying is what I say to peeps!
