Summertop: Lots of choices.... If money isnt a problem those freeze dried or dehydrated meals are really good, and easy, you just add h2o and voila!

Other less expensive options.... I like to do as much prep before I leave as possible. I mean, you can have your eggs already scrambled and stored in a container or canteen or something. One pot meals are also a good idea. When you are camping and hungry, everything tastes good, so dont worry about gourmet. Keep it simple. A big pot of pasta and some sauce is good. Chili, or some other one pot meals? Hamburgs and hot dogs are fairly easy and a favorite. I will think about it somemore and get back to you...

Cathryn.... that sounds like an awesome dinner. Next time for sure!

Michelle..... next time I am in England, you and me and Diane! have always loved that preparation. Actually any filet style for me.

You guys are gonna kill me, but we ended up going out for pizza instead! Oh well, I didnt plan ahead very well, it was just a last minute idea.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, I still cant wait to try that potato bar idea. That would be great with a group of friends!

am looking for some suggestion to make for a dinner for two that I want to prepare tonight. I am tired of the same ol filet and lobster etc... and am looking for something unique, yet not too complicated. I live in the northeast usa, so what may seem like it is not very unique to you may be unique to me, so dont be shy with suggestions. Thaks all! Cant wait to see what I get for ideas!

ScarletRose: Sorry! I dont think Wyoming is on the way from Maine to Florida ;)

When I get back from the Super Bowl, you are more than welcome to drop by for dinner though..... I can ghet them for $2.99 per pound, prolly a lot more out there, I bet! I will even throw in some filets and asparagus, with corn on the cob and roasted potatos, maybe a few steamers and a couple of nice bottles of wine?

Hannelore: I have a 4x4 with chains and a plow, so I should be all set! I am getting hungry too. Maybe I will be nice and drop you off a couple of fat lobsters anyway :)

Steelers are a great team, but I agree you were out coached, we have been doing that to other teams for a few years now!

BTW Hen....
When I am not dining gourmet, I am a meat and potatoes kinda guy anyway, so that meal sounds great!

Plus I got it mixed up girls.... you can continue to Henelores house as the LOSER of the game has to host the party, so we will only be in Maine if the Patriots lose ;)~

I know of many poor people who not only have internet, but 4 tvs, video games, large salt water fish tanks etc.... How can they be poor and still afford all of this, you ask? My government gives them my money to pay for their food and housing and medical.
