furbster: Yeah. I really would ike to see spomething new on the site, for like three years now there is no game variant added to BK.

Rather some simple alteration than nothing, please ;)

talen314: Combining games would be really cool to do. I don;t think it would be easy to build, but an Extended Chess game where players could combine two or three games would be awesome. Oh, and of course, if it would be legally possible, SuperChess.

Actually I would accept any new game soon. It is really a while ago that a new game was released. How about Dots and Boxes?

diogenysos: The problem is that the BKR is calculated by the number of played games. You can multiply that by 3, but after a while you will get the same problem.

There's been already have three years without any new games to play, could there be any addition sometimes?

But with all seriousness, I think it would be time to have another extra game added. The last game added was Massacre Chess before May 2009. That could be some tweaky variant but I also still miss the Classic Dots and Boxes game.

Subject: Re: New Team Tournaments Format
Undertaker.: Still a team with 5 2100+ players is tough to beat, random or not random :)

The fairest idea would be round robin, but then there's that annoying amount of games, maybe work them away in time-specified rounds, like a soccer competition? So players get one opponent per team, and after a while (say 1 week) the next round kicks in so they get another opponent from the other teams. A quick player can finish the eight games they get within the one week period.

For short games like Hyper Backgammon the time period can be even shorter. But for longer games like Go they time period should be even a month, and then still will be games running.

cd power: I don't like that, because pairing now will be reliede more on luck.

How about a round-robin style Team Tournament? Play against everyone of the other teams, but that will give you a hell lot of extra games.

The Events feature is great, but is it possible to preview the last event when the mouse hovers over the number next to Events, like the mailbox?

I do not like rule 8, which is not the way Dice Chess plays on BK. In the BK Dice Chess only possible pieces te move get a chance to get rolled. Also captured pieces don't count.

Herlock Sholmes: Does a player need to do those rolls in order? It can be more strategic if that wouldn't be. Then add the bankroll idea from Michael Coan (You get all extra rolls for the whole course at roll 1, and use them if you want. Therefore there are unlimited rolls per turn, but the total number of extra rolls is limited) and you would have an awesome game.

EDIT:
Or even better, you have unlimited rolls but the player with the least total of rolls wins.

Maybe auto-vacation should be used just an x times, say for example ten, each year then. Well, the misuser can still plan in his "vacation", but if he does so, everyone knows when those extra days are planned. On autovacation, the player hides his "vacation", till the day comes the games are timing out.

I think a black list is no good idea, people on the black list cannot get rid off that reputation.

Let's do some more "critical" game requests ;)

- Small Froglet (8x8) (for quiker frog games) (please make a frog section)

- Large Froglet (16x16) (I like frogs!)

- Large Attax (9x9) (makes a build up possible)

- Very Small Espionage (6x6) (even small takes too long!)

- Small Battleboats (6x6) (we just need another boat game!, of course, remove some ships to have same odds ( just only the 2 boat en the two 3 boats))

- A BB variant where you can choose among a number of ships. As long as all players have the same number of squares covered with ships. Think about 2x2 ships, 6x1, 3x2, more 1x2 etc. Just select any number at least one big ship (big ships allow to take very small ships) and others till you have 17 points covered (in normal BB game)

- A Frog Finder variant without shooting. This time there are way more frogs (say, 31) in the field and if a players guesses a field, the square becomes uncovered. If the square is a frog, it reveals and the player scores. If it is a number, it reveals, but if its a zero, all squares next to that square are revealed. All zeros again will uncover the squares next to them. If you can recognise the rules, yes, these are the rules for the MSN play-for-two Minesweeper.

Anyone for more ideas?

coan.net: I love the idea. But indeed, you should add extra rolls so the bankrol effect is greater. Add four rolls (to make 30) to the normal version and twelve to the TDP variant (to make 90).

Subject: Rozenkoning -> War of Roses
Rozenkoning, that was a game I tried at the "Spellen Spektakel", a Dutch game exchange. I liked it, but not the €20 they were asking for the game...

You do not need roses for the stones as well, just another name.

----

Furthermore, add BLOKUS! It is highly addictive and playable for 2 and 4 players (yes I'ld like to see more multiplayer..)

---

And still,
Why can't pawn members join ponds? With them, ponds are better filled up and pawn players do unknown things in a pond. Of course, for they are pawn members, they can join just a very limited amount (say 1 of each, or 5)

Of kan het bij "Definieer nieuw toernooi" bijgesloten zitten?
