Subject: favourite boards question
Hi, sorry, this may be the wrong board, and a really obvious question .. I haven't been here for a very long time, though I was here right at the start :-) But it means I've forgotten how to do silly stuff, and just can't seem to find the answers anywhere .. how do I 'manage' my favourite boards now ? for example I wish to delete a board that I know longer have access to as I'm not a member (don't worry fencer, think I may be rectifying that soon ;-D)

How can someone remove themselves from your 'friends' list ? By putting you on their 'blocked users' ?

Can someone please tell me how the 'link' button works.. right hand side of msg box. What does it do ? Having clicked on it, I'm not sure if I'm replying in a different way or what ?? :-D

Marfitalu: you can add a description to an individual on your 'friends list' as a reminder to yourself on what games you like to play against them. (use the 'change description' drop down box on your 'friends' page)

But at least this way it gives everyone the option and oppurtunity.. for those that wouldn't normally look at the chess db's. The prize may be an incentive for some to get interested in it, and as pafl said, it was only one post

for info... normally when I place my cursor over anything, bottom left of my IE window it gives me a little description, like where it says 'Done' when a page has loaded. Well, when I hover over the aforementioned profile icons it says 'error on page'. Just thought this might be useful !? :-D

Rose, thanks for the cursor info :)
One for fencer methinks .. thanks for everyone's suggestions :))

BBW, yes, javascript enabled, using IE, and yes, I do have a pop-up blocker, but it's not suggesting that it's blocking anything.. as I mentioned, the cursor doesn't even change.. weird, eh ?! :)

27. October 2004, 21:56:29

yep, I was doing it right, but nope, doesn't work for me.. doesn't even change the cursor.

Am I correct in thinking that if I place my cursor over (for example) fencer's picture on his profile, that I see a bigger one ? I understand that it's only him and 2 others at the moment, but it doesn't work for me atall ?? the top left hot spot works just fine though :)

And if you hide a user on one board, are they hidden on all, or just that specific one ?

Modified by Niki (12. September 2004, 16:27:16)
I am listed as 94th in the 5 in line ratings, yet at the top of the page it says I'm in position 103, and it also says that on my main page. Any idea why please?
*edit* hmm, interesting, when I look at page 1 of ratings, position is 103, when I 'go to this page' it again says position 103, but ofcourse I'm not there.. then when I look at page 2 where I'm in the correct position, it does actually say the correct position at the top of the page too !?!

I just thought it was pretty amazing if it's random placement that they could be identical, that's all.. therefore was more concerned that maybe there was a problem with the random thingummijig ?? :)

Am I correct in thinking that the pieces are placed randomly in froglet ? It's just that I've noticed 2 of my games in the same tournament have what appears to be the same layout.. games 447881 and 447884

As I have knight until next May, how does this work please ?

just read the list of new features.. you may want to add that the red number that appears next to the message box on the left hand list, when hovered over reveals who the last message received is from.

Underneath your message box, there is a 'copy to outbox' that I think is ticked by default.. therefore you can view your 'outbox' in the same way as your 'inbox'

sorry, edited because I've just realised that I didn't in fact answer your question atall !!

but pawns as pawns can't join a fellowship in the first place.. so that wouldn't happen.. it would be a case of allowing them to stay, rather than 'allowing them in'

17. May 2004, 16:37:52
Niki
can pawns even in fact remain members in fellowships ?? what if there's a fellowship tourny they're in when membership expires ?

17. May 2004, 16:31:39
Niki
yes, but as you say, dream actually left.. would she still have had the ability to run the fellowship as a pawn ?

17. May 2004, 16:28:01
Niki
thankyou for the reply fencer.. so for example, if a big boss rook has become a pawn due to not renewing, is he still the big boss ? are they still able to 'run' that fellowship ?
I wasn't suggesting anything should happen, I was just curious :o)

genuine question though please.. :)
